Re: LED Lamps & Flasher for GL1800

The first LEDs I put in my rear turn signals went to hyper flash because of less electrical draw tells the Wing that there is a bulb burned out. I checked with our local dealership tech and he said the hyper flash will not harm the stock flasher but I decided I want it to flash a normal flash so I f...

Re: LED Lamps & Flasher for GL1800

I just replaced all of my rear lights with LEDs, I put the iBright 9-30V in all of the brake/tail lights (several times brighter then the OEM bulbs, dual function). I put LEDs (SiriusLED 7440 Anti Hyper Flash Built-in load resistor) in the rear turn signals, I am extremely happy with the results, al...

Re: My first post (and its gotta be a problem question)

Thanks for the info AZgl1800, the CRC I have is not the same as you posted, I will be going to Home Depot to look for the CRC 2-26, if I they have it I will be using that for now on instead of the WD-40.

Keep on Winging

Re: My first post (and its gotta be a problem question)

WD-40 makes a mess of electronic parts. CRC 2-26 is less than $3 at Home Depot https://www.homedepot.com/p/CRC-2-26-5-oz-Multi-Purpose-Lubricant-02004/100398344 Lubricant displaces moisture, helping prevent corrosion Can be used to help prevent electrical malfunctions Lubricant is plastic safe hey ...

LED Tail light and Turn Signal bulbs

Ok, I am very happy with the change I made to my rear lights. I have replaced all of the running lights, brake lights and turn signal bulbs with super bright LED bulbs for the turn signal (these have built in resistors so that it illuminates the hyper flash) these were purchased from Siriusled.com T...

Re: My first post (and its gotta be a problem question)

My switch was sticking very badly so I decided to just leave it on and not mess with it. After seeing that light on, on my dash all the time I decided to tear into it and clean and lube it. I popped it apart leaving it still partially hooked up but open enough to spray some electrical cleaner in the...

Re: Seat uncomfortable.

I have a Corbin seat with back rest, I have a air-hawk air cushion and a short hair sheep skin on top of that. Tried riding with just the new seat when I got it but I was to use to the air cushion and sheep skin. Rode about 50 miles and stopped and put them back on, won't ride without them. Love the...

LED or standard turn signal bulb

Hello all, I have been told that my rear turn signal bulbs (stock factory bulbs) are hard to see, not very bright. My question out here is what has anyone else changed to and are there issues with changing to LED because of the required flash for a turn signal. What bulb number do I need to get for ...

Re: Tight Left or Right slow turn question!

For me I feel more comfortable making a U-Turn to the left because if I have to drop a foot for support, I can still keep my right foot on the rear brake to help control the wing. Using both front and rear brake during this is safer for me. I try not to use the front brake anymore then I have to whi...

I have a Corbin seat on my 2009, on top of that I have air-hawk seat cover and then a short hair sheep skin cover, I absolutely love the ride. I am 6' 5" and have highway wings comfort. I have rode 8000 miles last summer, it is the best seat I have ever ridden with. Its well worth the money. There i...

fairing frame covers chrome

I just recently purchased the side chrome frame covers. There are no instructions with this so thought it was just a no brainer to install them. Aftermarket Leather Seat

Hello everyone, My new to me 1800 has a Corbin leather seat on it. I am wondering what would be a great product to treat the leather with for sun protection and to protect it when we get caught in the rain. I was thinking about mink oil but have my concerns about putting that on and having to sit on...

GL1800 windshield

I am ordering a new windshield for my 1800 and while looking at many different ones, I have noticed that some sites say that the windshield will fit both a 1500 and an 1800. So with that being said I am wanting to know if I can take the windshield off my 1998 GL1500 and put it on my 2009 GL1800. Dos...

How to remove the windshield on a 2009 GL1800

Just picked up this GL1800, need to remove the windshield and I am not seeing "How To" in here. Any info would be great because I don't want to break anything. I have had my 1500 windshield off several times and back on, any hot tips that I can get to keep me from destroying anything or is it pretty...

I just purchased a 2009 Goldwing, it has the stock windshield but I am going to put a larger one on that helps stop the wind from pounding my wife's helmet. I have a larger windshield on my "98" 1500 and have gotten use to looking through it. I think this is best for us because I have found that if ...

Re: Lighting decision

Did some research on what kind of headlights to switch to from my stock bulbs. What I went to was the LED 55 w bulbs for the lower (fog light) placement and went to the super bright HID headlight set up. The light it projects down the road and out into the side of the road is amazing. Its one of the...

Re: Long Ride Shields TAKA

I replaced my stock windshield on my 1998 SE with a Show Chrome Touring windshield. It is 3.5 inches taller and 2 inches wider then the stock windshield. (also paid the extra 30 dollars for the windshield vent). With it in the highest position I can not look over the top, and I am 6' 5" tall. It too...

Ok, I am sure this has been discussed before but lets bring it up again. I am looking for everyone's experience with using rain treatment on their Plexiglas windshields. Re: 50 watt led driving lights

I changed mine to the HID 55watt bright white, they are great and they are better then the Led Bulbs. Yeah, they take a little more digging to install them but it only took an hour and I am so happy with them on my 98 GL1500.
