Re: Odd question

not always true on the cornering lights and CB. I have an 89 aspincade that has both. SE's have foot warmers too. (looks like a second headlight adjustment knob)

Helmet set up

This is not a conventional Hemet set up or topic that comes up in the Goldwing world. Motovlogging. It's something I do... I'm one of the few that do it on a gl1500. My Helmet camera is not a Gopro, it's a Zoom q4 and I use a lav mic in my helmet. Weight wise it feel the same as a gopro, even if it'...

Re: A tail of two dealers

I do not like my local dealer. I will not buy anything from them, if I can help it. All because I took my '82 in for a front tire, and they wouldn't change it due to the bikes age. I told them that I could understand that *if* I'd asked them to something more major, but it's just a front tire change...

Re: adding reverse to 1500I

Agreed. I don't think I'd buy a 1500 without it. especially where I have to park. Then there are those times (like on gravel) where you can push the bike, but you might slip. I'll use reverse in those cases, just so I don't dump the Platidiped wing battle wing.

Re: Picking up and Riding 800 miles

That's why I was saying get them from napa.... you can pre-order online and have them ready for pickup when you get there. Just have them go to a store near the bike. That way you wouldn't need to take them on the plane.

Re: floor boards

That's what I was thinking. Now I just have to find a set of pegs.

Again, do you know if I can use a set off another goldwing (1000, 1100, 1200?)
The bike is an '82 1100.

floor boards

My room mate just purchased a 82 aspincade (we think, it's an aspincade) and it has floor boards. We both hate them. I rode the bike, and it's hard to find the brake pedal, and it's a real pain to shift. We decided that they need to go. They look like Markum (or whatever) So to convert back, I need ...

Re: Should I be upset?

Yes, ABS plastic and Brake fluid, does not mix. I had the master cylinder top gasket leak some on the fearing on my '89 and I didn't catch it for a day or two.... Cracked the plastic, ate a piece of trim. Now I have to find a false tank side for mine. The trim is easy, the tank side, not so much. I'...

Re: Picking up and Riding 800 miles

I would find a local napa by the bike, order the timing belts and pick them up when I get there. That way you don't need to pack them. I'd change the timing belts, unless concrete and solid proof, a receipt, a sticker, etc on the bike before I would ride it home. Then when I get home, I'd change the...

Re: Wing Dip

With the wineberry paint really looking shabby and tired (and I loved the wineberry), this really cleaned up the bike. I still need to do a few things. The truck lid is really badly cracked and broken. I did re-enforce it ABS cement, but it's just sooo far gone at this point. I also will be redoing ...

The clear was pealing to the point that it was even cyrstalized on the bags. But why o why plasti dip? Well, if I don't like it or decide to paint it later, I can j...

Well I have an 1100 and a 1500.... The 1100 is more pure motorcycle and is more raw.... Both are great bikes.

Bluetooth Headset on the Cheap

Those who know me, say I'm Frugal; heck, they call me cheap. But they also know I love my music and audio books. I love riding on long trips, playing some Stephen King novel while I ride. Since most of what I listen to is on Pandora, or on my old retired iphone (I don't use it as a phone, just an mp...

how hard was it to put on the cover? I have done the seat on my 1100, it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't easy, and I did an ok job, but I can tell I did it... LOL, ie. it's not perfect.

Re: 1500 timing belt changge and adjust

I just finished doing my belts. Anyone using Honda's blue coolant? It's what my ridgeline uses and I'm running it in the 1100. So far so good.... A gallon is about 20 bucks (50/50 mix) I changed the 1500's belts without draining the cooling system. It is a little hard to get the covers out and I did...

The official name for that is "Intake air scrubber"

It's part of the clean air burn system they use here in California... LOL :)

Re: 82 Aspencade rear caliper pistons needed

:D WOW Who would have thought? The Florida Honda Dealer, Haps 941-365-3443, parts ask for Dave, has new old stock (NOS) with shipping to Wi. $76 for '82 Aspencade rear brake pistons. I maybe should have asked him to confirm the length. Fingers crossed. Urbanmadness, your rear caliper is between the...
