Re: Looking for a drivers backrest

I have a Markland riders backrest that bolts onto the passenger handles. I even have the longer bolts that you would need to install it. Unfortunately the bike was totaled but, fortunately for you, :D I didn't have the back rest on at the time. So it's now for sale. I will offer it up for $75 plus s...

1500 cover and panel keepers

Hi all, So after the accident I'm cleaning house. I ran across a couple of items that I thought I could sell but to you folks I would offer them at a fair price. I was in the process of installing several panel keepers but didn't get them all installed before the accident. What I have left are the f...

Re: Crashed wing

Thanks harvey01 and motorhead. The wife is still healing but has found out that she has a non-displaced fracture in her tibia, on the plateau so this has potential of long term recovery. This will put her out of commission for a while. She also has a bruised collarbone and strained back muscles. Thi...

Re: Crashed wing

Might have considered that if I thought I would ride again. But my riding days are over. Someone is going to get a nice bike to fix up.

Re: Rear speaker volume..?

For the '99 Aspencade? My '96 SE was different. Not sure but if you go to cyclemax, then click on OEM parts it will open a page where you can select the year and model of your bike. Scroll down to "handle - grips/switches/cables. That will open a microfiche parts breakdown for that area. I believe t...

All a mute point since the insurance company totaled the bike. On to a new chapter.

Re: Crashed wing

Thanks all, for the replies. That was the primary reason I didn't ride it home some 20 or 30 miles. The uncertainty of underlying issues. Not to mention the fact that the mirrors were both broken. Not sure if others have had dealings with the insurance company on an older bike, although it's most li...

Crashed wing

On Friday July 3, the Mrs. and I decided to take a nice relaxing ride. As we approached a "T" intersection the car in front of us decided to go right. The woman sitting at the intersection waiting to turn left didn't see us due to the car turning. Of course she pulled out. She got into my lane when ...

Re: Gl1500 sitting around....help

wbwick, sounds like you got taken. I suspect that this bike is full of trouble. Let me save you the headaches and I'll be happy to take it off your hands. Go get yourself a nice new 2015 model that requires nothing. You'll be much happier. Just one biker looking out for another. :^) Seriously, sound...

Re: noise from gas cap?

Since my initial post I've never heard the noise again. I don't know what the cause was or the fix for that matter. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Just one of those strange gremlins. Man I've got to get someone to gift me a new gremlin bell.

OK, I'm not familiar with this weeping hole that is being discussed. Can someone help to describe it to me? Where is it located? Apparently there is some significance to it.
Thanks

janagle, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately due to some family related medical issues we had to postpone the trip. Hopefully just until next year. Your suggestions are welcome and duly noted. I'll bet that next year is CRAZY! Hopefully in a good way. We will certainly look to book rooms early. We w...

Alright, so who just happens to drive down the road with a video camera rolling just looking for opportunities like this to take place? I don't get that part of this. However, in response to the incident, that was pretty spectacular!!

What is the date code of your tires? They may not have many miles on them but may be "stale" dated tires.

For what it's worth, I've always had good luck with a used dryer sheet for cleaning the windshield. Won't bead the water like rain-ex will but it's great for removing those stuck-on bugs guts. Something in the dryer sheet that softens them up. Get dryer sheet wet, wipe windshield then rinse off. I k...

Re: Grandson's first ride.

Took the grandson (7 years old) on his first ride yesterday. We went to take vegs. to aunt and as we walked out the door he said, "wish we could go on your bike". I looked at him and said, "why not, lets do it". We went to the shop and got him a helmet and I put the headset on him and the helmet an...
