Re: What's wrong with this picture?

Probably was a scam of some sort. Replied to the craigslist generated email reply. Asked where the bike was to go look at it, about extra parts, and even if it was still available.

No reply so far. Not interested anymore. :(

Re: Clarion 1 removal from 81 GL1100I

UPDATE: Stereo is back from Sierra Electronics. In perfect working order. Everyone here seemed to highly recommend and praise Sierra. Usually when EVERYONE is that pleased with a company, that means that I'M the one to get the run around and get screwed. NOPE. Not this time. Works perfect...better t...

Re: Clarion 1 removal from 81 GL1100I

Well, the PO DID have some strange ways of doing things. The PO also cut and spliced some different colored wires to the factory wiring, making it a little harder to figure out. When I talked to the guy at Sierra, he also said that the stereo shouldn't be tied to it, unless the PO someway, somehow, ...

Re: Clarion 1 removal from 81 GL1100I

Good news...bad news. The CB was an after market, so not tied into the stereo. No effect on it, as it was removed awhile back because it was non working and an old 23 channel anyway. My Clarion looks just like the one in the link that Admin posted, EXCEPT mine has 2 - 5 pin din plug cables coming ou...

Re: Clarion 1 removal from 81 GL1100I

Thanks, Wil...

I think I have those CB wires figured out, but now I'm trying to figure out the stereo antenna coax.

Not sure if I need to unhook the coax from the antenna and pull it through, as its soldered to the inside of the stereo, or if there is a male/female in the middle or...???

Clarion 1 removal from 81 GL1100I

AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I don't have a lot of patience, but instead of punching a wall, I'll turn to the hive. Removing the factory stereo from my 81 GL1100I, getting ready to send it to Sierra. I have it all unhooked EXCEPT the antenna coax. Do I have to remove coax from the antenna, and pu...

Re: 9/11 Never Forget

My wife, daughter and I just got back about 3 weeks ago from NYC. We visited the memorial 2 times. Cried 2 times. On 9-11, I was a baby cop, in the academy. Out to change the world. The attack on American soil happened during my stay there. I felt so pissed off, yet helpless. I couldn't do anything ...

Re: LED running light questions

Thanks Admin! You came through AGAIN!! But, now MORE questions. I Read both reviews. I was orig. going with the first ones because they are "pretty chrome ones". But after reading the second review, I might be swayed. With the size, wattage and being LEDs the same, the shape being different and the ...

LED running light questions

I have a "few" questions about lights on my ride. 1981 GL1100I. I'm going to try to post this on my iPad and add pics too. (I've heard you people like pictures!) Currently my wing has these: image.jpeg And these on the back: image.jpeg They are hanging from the engine guard on the front. They have "...

Re: Carrying a firearm on a trip

Lilbeaver ; If you have solid background and training in handguns , my personal preference would be the .40 cal simply for "Hit" power . I have ; and load for both 9mm & .40 , and many people have "bought into" the ballistics arguments that a 9mm has the equivalency of a .40 cal. Sorry ; but I took...

Re: Carrying a firearm on a trip

http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/glock-27-40-caliber-safe-action-pistol Tell me which one I should purchase.... If I had to buy one, I'd get a 9mm Glock, but try the different sizes to see which one fits your needs the best. Ammo is cheaper, and with the modern ammo, not much difference in ballistic...

Re: Carrying a firearm on a trip

I'm of the same opinion as Grindl. I have no "Range queens" but I do own Glocks that I know will go bang every time I squeeze the trigger, without fail. If I was to spend lots of money on a fine instrument, I'd probably go for an HK USP .45. But for what I use them for, the Glock fits my needs perf...

On duty? Out of the holster ONCE in 17 years. To clear the courthouse at 0300.. Ghost alarm.
