stick with the All Balls kit, it is tapered Timken bearings, OEM is ball bearings and they don't hold up well.
Fork rebuild does not normally include bearings :?:

Re: regarding grip and seat heater

You will read that Dyna Beads won't work, that is true, and false. I read an article that says they won't work but they put a tire with beads in it on a computer spin balancer to come to that conclusion, which won't work. The tire has to be rolling on a road surface for it to work. Really! What lea...

Re: stubby radio antennas

As soon as a rider gets on board, not to mention adding a passenger, you can kiss that stubby antenna's "careful SWR tuning" goodbye forever, it ain’t' there no more. FYI, My comment was directed AT CAREFUL TUNING of an OEM CB antenna, not a stubby. Careful relates to being away from buildings, tre...

Re: stubby radio antennas

Stubby's kill the incoming signals! Dastic reduction in reception distance. As for the OEM CB antenna. I see so many comments such as "line of sight", short distance, etc. While it is true there is not much ground plane on a motorcycle, if the SWR is carefully and properly tuned, the transmitting di...

Are you sure bead blasting will not damage the thin fins????
If would consider letting a radiator shop boil them and ask them about proper paint method.

Sorry, I've been looking at an 09 a 12 and a Anniv 14 online and typed that by mistake. Now leaning toward the newer models.
The only difference is the harness. At one time you could get the 2012 to 2017 harness from Electrical Connection. Might check with them:

Why does it not fit your 09? Thought they were the same for 01 thru 2010. Then required a different harness for 2012 up!

Put the auto adjust dial in the center position, then Proper headlamp aim is achieved by adjusting the upper(high) beams. Bike needs to be on a level floor, standing upright, loaded as you normally ride. (re, 1up-you for most), with pre load set as you ride 1up, placed 25' from a wall to the headlam...

Re: tires / winter storage

There is no danger to "modern" tires!
This myth stems from the days of nylon tires that would flat spot if parked for long periods of time.

If it was taken in on trade, I assure you they have all the previous owners info!!!!!!!
1. Yes, drain hoses
2. Photo cell is most likely for a modulator, which was either removed or is not working! Was the bike running and the headlight on upper beam when you checked the switch and sensor?

Just wondering if you are aware the Blue Ridge Parkway does not start in Front Royal! That is the North end of the Sky Line Drive. The North end of the Blue Ridge starts at the South end of the Sky Line at Rock Fish Gap.

You don't say if you added a rake kit or not?
If not, a low speed head shake is pretty common, especially from about 40mph on down.
If you do have a rake kit, most likely the head bearings are not torqued enough

Bike now just getting 10k on it All you should need at this point is to set the preload at 25(if you haven't already) and ride!!! When my 06 was new, I tried a lot of different preloads for solo and 2 up. Wife wasn't to happy with the ride! Then read a thread on another forum, posted by Tom Finch, ...

Re: Pulling a Trailer

Make sure you check out a Wing w/a Hannigan GenI conversion!!! Extended & wider wheel base + IRS makes for the smoothest ride I found! The big + is the rear end is offset to align w/the Wings drive shaft output. No severe drive shaft angles to put undue stress on the U-joints. Also, scheduled mainte...

How did this affect ride quality? Don't know your miles??? Anyway, all suspensions wear out! If you are near 35 t...
