Re: Key not unlocking my trunk, key turns, nothing happens.

All 1800's came with a FOB, if you bought used the previous owner did not ive it to you, or if you bought it new the dealer didn't give it to you. You can get one on e-bay Hmmmm, I really don't think so sir, as not all 1800s have the option to open the trunk by remote, mine for sure does not. The h...

Re: Key not unlocking my trunk, key turns, nothing happens.

Thanks everyone and my 2003 does not have a key fob to open trunk just a key. I have turned it left and right. It appears a nut comes loose on linkage. A friend to slim Jim it later. Thanks all. Re: That One Thing wont leave behind?

Tire pressure gauge.... and I solved that by installing a TPMS and can easily check the pressures each morning before I leave, and never stoop down again :D I agree that having a TPMS is a good idea but I would never use it to accurately check the tire pressure, they usually take a mile or 2 before...

This has been happening since the 88 1500 that I know of, maybe before, Don't you think Honda would figure something out by now!!

Re: please help transmission trouble video

It might be worth a call to Honda. I know the bike is out of warranty but with that low of miles Honda might do something just a good relations to a customer. I thought I read somewhere that Honda changed the gears a few years back, but maybe they didn't.

Just add some fuel stabilizer and you will be fine. My neighbor who is only here for about 5 or 6 months a year does that and he never has a problem

Re: Traded up

Congrats on the new 2 you ride. Read the owners manual, all those buttons do a lot of different stuff, push them down and turn to toggle thru different settings. The 01 Gold Wing had a lot of recalls and service bulletins, including frame re weld, check with a dealer and see if they have been comple...

Re: Price of bike

I finally settled on my bike. They gave me $5900.00 I was hoping for $5000.00 so that was good. I bought my bike back and I am going to part it out or sell the whole bike if some one wants it. They sure did a good thing. What insurance company do you have? It's always nice to hear when something wo...

Re: Seeking help with used Goldwings

A bike can have low miles and still be a problem. Check and see if they have maintenance records. Look for visible signs of neglect. If the brake and clutch fluids look dark, they probably didn't take time to change the fork oil or timing belts, Don't take their work for self made service records, c...

It's a 14 so it is probably still under warranty, if you do not get an answer here take it back to the dealer.

Re: What's wrong with this picture?

No front fender, i would wonder if it has been in a wreck. The stumble off idle can be fixed with a 4 degree advance timing wheel. Ask about fork oil change, sub filter and cruise filter change, ask if the drive shaft has ever been lubed, check charging system, but for $1000 if you can do the work i...

Re: Price of bike

Trade in value is 3585, retail is 5700, I doubt if they will offer you more than 4500. They don't care about new tires or what ever else you did to it, it is still a 20 year old bike. Look around on craigslist and cycletrader and see what they are going for, that is about what they will offer you, o...

Re: Remove AM FM CASSETT PLAYER

To get to the radio you have to remove the seat, and a few plastic pieces around the top part of the radio claw, not a big deal. This video will show you how. It shows how to change the air filter but all you need to watch is the first part where he removes the radio.

Re: Remove AM FM CASSETT PLAYER

When the fuse blew on my 98SE I had radio but the volume was very low. The box the relay is in is next to the fuse box, kind of hidden by the saddle bag, I got to mine without removing the bag, it is the 5 AMP fuse if you want to check it but I doubt that is it.

Re: Odometer reset button

If I remember correctly the rubber boot goes in from the back of the glass, it has a lip that holds it behind the glass, but they do get weathered and break. I think the one on 92 broke after about 6 or 7 years.

Re: Curve lights

They changed to on all of the time in '97 It was 98. I had a 97 and a 98. 97 still had frosted headlight and cornering lights. In 98 Honda put on clear headlights and running lights and made the lower lights running lights. A lot of owners changed their own to make them running lights before 98.
