My $250 '78 GL1000 is done

I have a lot more than $250 in it now but mostly labor. I always wanted to customize a GL so when a local fella found one in a barn he was willing to let go of for $250, I bought it.

that's what I figured but no dice. trying to figure out where to go from here. I tested continuity so I know the wires not broke from the fan to the plug....

quick question, my fan is not coming on. I acquired the bike with some modified worrying so I'm trying to find out if it's a bad switch or bad wiring. If I short the plug going to the temp switch, shouldn't that run the fan? I've tested the fan a 12v directly to the plug and it runs if my power sour...

Short the 2 wires together that go to the temp switch.This should run the fan.If it does,the switch is bad,If it doesn't the fan is bad or has no power.The switch is located at the thermostat housing,center and front of the top of the block,next to the upper radiator hose.Access from the right side...
