The black label is the early version, not as sturdy as the green label one.

Re: Project: 1984 Aspencade (GL1200) Revival

Not sure we are on the same page here. Right fork seal is stuck in the slider. Will not come out when tube is used as a slide hammer. It's probably not the seal stuck, it is the washer underneath it. If you can pull the seal out with a couple of screws then hammer the washer back down flat it will ...

The higher the RPM, the more power required for a good spark.
Yes and I have seen on an 1100 a dead leg on the stator causing it to not charge enough and have a high RPM fall out.

On the high voltage problem it may not be getting a good reference voltage on the black wire to the regulator or the regulator is not grounded good.

Go to an online OEM parts supplier and compare the part #s. If the first 5 digits are the same it probably will fit.

Those solex carbs didn't even work good on a VW. Do you have any sort of manifold heater on it?

Nope, they will work laying loose, not grounded at all. Someone did come up with an idea to use a piece of a computer power supply heat sink bolted between them. Not sure if it help but doesn't hurt.

Re: Intermittent starter switch? & F1 light

I've been apprehensive about the starter switch because of my habit here in the hot Houston, TX southern climate to shut the bike off at red light intersections, Why would you do that? You do know it is a liquid cooled engine? I wouldn't be surprised to find a worn out starter, switch, relays or an...

I bought a set of Vesra gaskets for an 1100. They are very good, look like OEM. The set contained every gasket on the engine for a pretty good price.

I don't use my phone for forums, only a PC and I can't seem to stay logged in either. Have cleared cookies, twice with no results. Sometimes it will stay logged in overnight but usually I'm logged out immediately when I leave the site. You can try this link: http://goldwingdocs.com/ClearCookies.asp...

You can just splice them in. LEDs don't draw enough amperage to matter.

What is a good rate for front springs? I have seen .90 ,1.0 and 1.1 which should I use on a gl1800? Also any opinions on Race Tech brand?
It all depends on how much you weigh, if you carry a passenger etc.

Thanks. I guess I need to shop for an ECM. Will check on Parts available from this website. Appreciate very much your input. Where is this info available? I have the Honda issued 2001-2003 GL1800/A CD Service Manual. Is this tucked away somewhere in there? I've been too laid back to explore it. Sha...

That code (26) is for the left knock sensor. Bad news is the sensor is probably OK and the ECM is the problem.

I had the same thought. I have done Harley forks before which only use a crush washer, no sealant. The sealant was foreign to me. Interested in how you make out! I have done quite a few myself and never knew they required sealer. I even drilled my 1800 and installed external drain screws and only u...
