Re: Blackwing Fork brace Installtion

You might want to try realigning the forks. Maybe something is off and they are not completely parallel to each other. Take a look at this video that shows what needs to happen. All the same bolts need to be loosened as what he is doing on another bike.

Re: Jumps and stalls when put in gear

Yes it is possible, maybe even likely, the clutch plates are stuck. But he still needs to find where the fluid is going and fix that.

Re: Help....!

No. The ECU has to see a ground from the side stand or else it will kill the ignition if you put it in gear.

Ooops. Dave beat me to it.

Re: Jumps and stalls when put in gear

I think I would take a look at the slave cylinder and see if you see any signs of brake fluid around there. That fluid had to go somewhere. It would probably be a good idea to take it off and clean it up anyway and replace the seals in it.

Re: Help....!

The ECU is behind the right side inner fairing cover. It will be down below the fuel filter.

Re: 2000 GL1500SE intermittent no start

Was the engine running when you moved the lever up to reverse? The reverse light should not come on until several tests by the reverse control circuit have been made and pass. One of them is that the engine is running.

I also got new rubber dampers to install. Do the nipples go in toward motor or out?
Here is a diagram from the parts fiche that may help you see how they go.

I went with ones from cyclemax. Very bright, very white. :D
I got mine from Cyclemax also and am very pleased with them, but he said he has a non standard cornering light with an H6M bulb. Not sure what a H6M bulb is but it may not fit the same as what came on the Aspencade.

I suggest contacting https://www.superbrightleds.com/ and ask them what would be a good replacement for that bulb. Down near the bottom of the page is a place to contact them by phone, email or chat.

Re: Re-installing cooling fans on 92 wing se

I put a putty knife on the back side of the fans to help them slide into place. Try to get the front where it needs to go then put the putty knife between the fan and the wires etc that are behind it to help it go in. I found that helped me get mine back in place.

He said the problem is when he pushes button to back up it only moves a few inches then stops.
I just didn't read carefully enough, a fault I have more and more.
There is a big section in the service manual on troubleshooting reverse issues.
I know the feeling well, Dave! ;)

Re: 1997 Honda Goldwing 1500 SE ELECTICAL PROBLEM

Power distribution-page-001.jpg You could also try unplugging the C73 connector (14 pin black) to see if that stops the fuse blowing. It is located below the left fairing pocket. That will eliminate the air pressure and lcd unit. If that doesn't help, try unplugging the CB radio and then the am/fm ...

Here is a picture from the wiring diagram for that relay. The coil windings are greeen for the ground and black for the 12 volts to operate the relay. The relay contacts are white/yellow for the 12 volts input and the other one is brown/blue for the 12 volts out to the lights etc.

Looks like Dave is correct, as usual, about C57. I think you will find your trouble at C57 or the start switch itself since you say the lights work with the reverse lever up.

I like the LED head lights a lot. I can see much better at night than with the stock H4 bulbs. I don't know how they compare to the HID bulbs because I have never had them on a motorcycle. I can tell you that even in the daytime if you put the lights on bright when near a road sign it will light it ...
