Re: tool kit

Depends on how deep you want to be able to handle problems. For me, a full of Metric and SAE combinations wrenches. Same for 1/4 and 3/8 inch sockets, short and deep for each. I like to have a Mini-Ratchet, it is about 4 inches long, has 1/4" drive on one side, and 3/8" drive on the backside. The he...

Re: USB thumb drive music

a lot of the 1500 radios have been modified to have an Auxiliary Audio input port. Wayne up at Sierra Electronics does that mod all the time. Or, the easiest way is to simply use an audio to FM radio transmitter adapter. That is how I did it, from my GPS, to the FM transmitter, and the FM radio tune...

Re: How cold will ya'll ride?

I just ain't the man I used to be. When I lived up in Grouse Creek, Utah and the temps were at minus 59 degrees, I just put on two pair of wool socks, my felt liners and then my jumbo galoshes.... warm underliners, jeans, and two pair of insulated coveralls. felt gloves, and then insulated gloves, a...

Re: Stator preventative replacement.Worth it?

Best preventive maintenance if it isn't already done is to cut the 3 pin connectors off the yellow stator wires and SOLDER them together. Those underrated plugs eventually start getting hot and corrode, melt the plastic and short together, or one of them will go open circuit. Either condition will ...

I did not realize that TomTom was doing that.

all of my Garmin GPS units will still take updates, even the old 3.5" unit.... can't even remember what it is called. it is at least 7 years old.

a Nuvi 40, I found a review written on it in 2004, and it noted it will have LifeTime Updates

I didn't feel the need to do a double post,

if your post had indicated you only wanted used, then I would never have bothered to post up links for the new stuff. it was a waste of time.

but, do have a nice day, and hope that you can find what you want...

Re: 1800 Speedometer Accuracy

on my '02, the Odometer is pretty close, a litte bit generous, but not by much.

I compared the offset over 1,200 miles and it was like less than 1%

Now the Speedo?

oh man alive, at 70 mph GPS actual, the Speedo is registering nearly 80 mph...

IIRC, it is like 6.5 to 7 mph fast at 70 actual.

and when that symptom shows up,
get an AGM battery... don't fool around with another wet cell type.

AGM will start the engine before you can get your finger off the button.

If that '94SE you are looking at resembles this one, go find another one

the SE definitely is a two tone, with the nice looking insert panels on the sides of it.

REF: the steering head bearings. Lift the front wheel off the ground. Turn the handlebar lock to lock with a very light finger tip pressure. Personally, I would NOT apply power to the fuel pump B terminal unless you first remove the connector from the ECU.

Doing so, is to invite damaging the ECU permanently, as they can't be repaired usually.

I replaced just the low beams with the pathfinders in a half hour. Had them on my 1500 too. The low beams are pretty easy to swap out. The high beams require small strong flexible hands. The 1800 uses the same bulb for both low and high beams but the reflectors focus the high beams on a higher plan...

Use a voltmeter to determine what the Terminal Battery Voltage is, it must be an absolute minimum of 10.5 volts for the ECU to fire the spark plugs. 11 volts i...
