Re: Trailer picture thread

My trailer started out as a HF, which frame I don't know, the PO cut it down narrower, and chopped the tongue :x It is in my Avatar as well. I liked the box he made, but his mods to the axle did not fair out so well, I had a custom built axle with new hubs and 5.70x8 wheels/tires made up for it. Use...

Re: What’s the best way to dispose ones old fuel?

I just pour it in the gas tank of the car or truck.

that will dilute it so much, the car/truck will never know it is there.

as you say, filter to remove any contaminates.

or, use it to burn the grass/weeds beside the driveway.

Re: New To Me - Second 1985 Limited - New Project

I have been in electronics since 1958, and several of the companies I worked for, have Desiccant air filters feeding some of their expensive equipment. We always took the pink stuff out, put it in a baking pan, and put it in an oven.... leave it alone until it is dark blue. put it back where it came...

Re: Why did he crash ?

AZgl1800, it is really none of my business but is that a 3/4 helmet, modular helmet of a full face helmet you were wearing? That one in the crash was a HJC Full Face Modular helmet. I still have it, bought a new face shield for it 2 years ago. It is still a good helmet... When it is locked down, it...

The term "Cops" got me to looking for what it is: https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/detailed-write-up-how-do-coil-plug-conversion-1344468/ That article describes using it on a bunch of stuff, and how it is standard on modern automobiles today. He also talks about how the motorcycle i...

Looks like a bit of sand blasting, or bead blasting would make it look nicer.

Re: Why did he crash ?

echinus1988 Thanks for your post, we all need to review these incidents and see if we can improve our future riding skills. As I have posted, an 18 wheeler tried to kill me, how I survived is not known, but I was truly ATGATT all the way.... but, somehow, my helmet came off. In retrospect, I believe...

Interesting, I did not realize that was also a two piece windscreen assembly.

I bought the Madstad and took some pictures of it laying on the floor.
Wx is too cool for me to work on bike, but one day, it will go on the bike.

Re: Engine Restorer

Sea Foam is well documented for cleaning engines. It was created in the late '30s or '40s to keep Marine engines clean of crud and water. it is a fail safe treatment. add 4oz to the existing oil, run the bike normally for 100-200 miles and drain it. that drained oil will be very nasty looking... new...

the seat is a bit lower, the bags have changed shape, but still pretty much hold as much as Gen I. I prefer the looks of the Gen 1 over the Gen II bikes, but what the hey, they are almost the same except for some little niggling features. I have a '02 sans the ABS or Air Bag. But can't say that I ha...

Kapunda is a bit far o'er the water from here in Oklahoma, USA. Re: Help with Tire Selection and What is Available

Just a follow up. I went with the Shinko tires 100-90-19 front, 130-90-17 rear. They are V rated. They look like decent tires and I like the tread pattern. There are some other tires out there but some of them are not rated or recommended for heavy loads (bikes). They showed up today. It will be fu...

Great stuff if used properly. my dad taught me how to use it back in 1958.... but at the time, the brand name was KopperKote or something like that. K&W owns it now. Amazon has it, should be able to find it in any good auto supply store. https://www.amazon.com/CRC-401612-Copper-Gasket-Compound/dp/B0...

When I lived out in West Texas, and then up in NW Utah, those magnetic block heaters were okay. the ones that stick into the oil work pretty good too. on my '74 Chevy Suburban 454, I bought the radiator hose heater and it worked great. throw a blanket over the engine, plug it in.... at -59* it start...

Re: head gasket job

If you have a steel office ruler, lay it across the head.

If there is any daylight showing you will know that it needs to see a machinist.

or, just ask a machinist to lightly true it up, they do that all the time.
what they take off is extremely small.
