I have an 84 GL1200 Interstate with an analog gauge. Does the regulator apply to this one?

I have a question concerning the clutch pin that the clutch slave cylinder pushes on.Should you be able to push the pin in with your fingers? When I push on it nothing happens. There is no give to it.

Ok, I'm ready to put the status cover back on. Is the gasket by itself good enough or should I use liquid gasket with it. If so do I put the liquid gasket on one side or both.

I pulled the engine following a youtube video. It was very comprehensive. I have replaced the stator and rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. I am torn as to whether to replace the clutch plates. Is there some way to visually determine if the plates are worn? Oh, a little history. I bought the bike at...
