Re: Flash rate and LED's...the easy way

I am very sorry, I couldn't have time to work on this subject yet.
But, if I am not mistaken, someone had replied that he found the solution, and would share it.

Re: engine noise

Since you mentioned a noise with rubber smell, I would suspect, the alternator rubber dampers are bad or timing belts are loose.

Re: GL1500 Water Pump

When looking at Partzilla.com I see that for my 92 GL1500 Interstate there are three different water pumps. 19200 MY4 000 19200 MY4 010 19200 MY4 020 They are all the same price, $144.45 but, they don't explain the difference and I don't want to get the wrong one. The part numbers are the same for ...

Re: Petrol Cap Pipes

There is a hook on the clutch cover near the clutch bleeder, it should be inserted there. #3 in the picture.

It is a free piece, just a breather, drain hose.
The open end of T functions as a syphon breaker, to prevent fuel leak, if the bike is dropped.

Re: Petrol Cap Pipes

Are you asking the T shape plastic piece?

If so, there should be a hose connected to the lower end and nothing connected to the side end of the T piece, as shown below.

Re: So, eeerrr, whats this ???

Yes, it is the noise filter on the fuel pump cover. But for 88-90 models with CB, or for later models Aspencade with CB.

Re: Cruise Control problems

I don't remember a switch under the carb. As far as I know, the only throttle cancel switch is the one in the picture.

Actually, you can bypass the throttle cancel switch by jumping two pins in its connector, and continue troubleshooting.

Thanks Erdeniz. I wonder how expensive those seals will be at the honda dealer.
I don't know exactly the warranty period but, maybe you can ask for a free replacement from a Honda dealer showing this bulletin.

Re: older style wet cell battery

I'd trust personal experience over something I read on the internet every time.Personal experience also showed me that you get 2 to 3 years longer out of an AGM.That covers the extra cost in my books. BTW I doubt any bike battery could handle 2 hours of sitting with the key on never mind starting i...

Re: older style wet cell battery

The OEM batteries in Wing's have been AGM's for years. The extra CCA is what the 1500 works better with.Had a 1500 for 5 years and I gotta tell you the difference in the rpm that the AGM turned it over at seemed like it was double what the lead/acid did.No more lead/acid for me.Both my atv's have th...

Re: older style wet cell battery

As a basic answer, discharging time and charging time can be accepted to be equal. For example, if the battery has 20Ah capacity, it can provide 1 amper current for 20 hours or 2 amper current for 10 hours... So, if your charger provides 1 amp it will take 20 hours to charge a 20Ah battery. On the o...

Re: older style wet cell battery

I charged the battery for about 18 hrs on the trickle charger Saturday. Today, at lunch, I checked it and it read 12.01V with nothing attached. Should I charge it longer? Not sure what I should see on this battery but wondering since adding water that it hasn't charged long enough to energize the e...

Re: older style wet cell battery

That was good information, fill every 6 months. The battery will be kept in the house all winter and I charge it once a month overnight with a trickle charger I have. I do this every winter with both my bikes. I don't have power in the shed where I store them so the batteries come out. But now I kn...

Re: older style wet cell battery

The 1500 loves a good battery for starting and the AGM's are about 60 CCA's more than your lead/acid.For that reason I would say use your lead/acid for your fish finder or lawn mower etc and go buy an AGM for next spring.Your starter will thank you. Although I am not against an AGM battery, I can't...

Re: older style wet cell battery

Always keep the battery fully charged using a battery tender device, especially if the bike will not be used for a long time. If the battery is not kept charged, then some unwanted chemical reactions may occur inside the cells which reduce the total capacity of the battery, although you see 12V or m...

Re: Adding blue tooth

I understand that you want a Bluetooth device that can be connected to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. So, you will need a multipoint Bluetooth helmet set. Otherwise you will need to switch between the devices. I personally, prefer the OEM set up with a Garmin GPS connected to my cellphone via...

Re: Electrics - Starter Motor

I didn't take the starter button apart yet I did open the throttle side clam shell and sprayed a lot of electrical contact cleaner in there for now. It may fix some issues sometimes, but I would definitely remove the starter button and clean it, it is not a difficult job. The grease used in the swi...

When you diassamble the start button, you will see the contacts and springs inside, clean and lube them, if necessary stretch the springs some to have better contact.
