Re: Rock auto, timing belts.

As for your tensioners, yes you have to modify the tensioner to take the T42015. But if you go to this link: http://www.sdb-e.com/TENSIONER/TENSIONE ... LD-JCS.pdf and copy the pdf you can modify the tensioner to take the bearing. I did a slightly modified Method #6. Works great. That is if you hav...

Also the Gates idler pulley number T42015 , is that a direct replacement or is there some modifying to do? Thank...

Re: 5W-20 oil

5W-20 ..... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. N.E.V.E.R NEVER NEVER NEVER go below xW-40. Why??? Our engines are "flat tappet" design. Means the tappets and cam have a sliding contact. To avoid wear, the oil has a high zinc content. 1000ppm+ BUT - zinc poisons cat converters. So e...

Re: Austone Taxi Tire

I'm running my second Austone Taxi Tire on my 93 GL1500I. It needs replaced, approaching the wear bars in the center tread. My Interstate came with a single air shock. I have to keep that air shock at its maximum pressure and it does NOT bottom out with my 180 lbs. riding solo. When I say bottom ou...

Re: Trailer picture thread

This winter I built version 2 of my wooden trailer. The plywood on the sides of the old one started delaminating so I went with a all cedar strip version this time. I'm pretty much done, a few odds and ends left. A few picts. Bud. Wow ! That is a really nice looking trailer. You are a craftsman :-)

Well, there shop labor rate is about 125.00 dollars per hr. So I doubt that they are still in the 50's. :-) They have some fancy pants tire changer and it only takes them a few minutes to do it.

You get a 2" extension piece with the rake kit as standard. You may have to take the forks apart to see what's been done. they may have fitted a stiffer spring with a extension plug in the forks.
