Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

I am not sure exactly what it is you are trying to do but will explain how I use the headset to make calls. I have my phoned paired with the headset via Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 5s - To make a call, you MUST activate siri. So you have to press the home button on the phone to get her to speak. The...

Fork Spring Removal Tools, Atlanta, Ga

Hello fellow members, I live in the Atlanta, Ga. Area. I returned from the Tail of the Dragon this week and found that I blew a fork seal on my 88 Gl1500. It is my daily driver, so I need to fix it promptly. I have a car so I am not stuck, but my car can not handle the mileage I drive daily, Anyone ...

Delo400le 15w-40 is gone, now what?

Hello everyone, I went searching today to find Delo 400le 15-40 and seems that is has been reformulated and is nolonger made, the new one seems to be SDE. So now what? My 88 1500, was super quiet on the delo400le, so I am a bit worried to just change to another formula, so what has everyone who love...

Re: Vacuum line Questions

Thanks everyone! I got the carbs off and to my surprise the PO had done the lines already, they look new!!! I did find an oil leak under my carbs, the manifold boot left side was covered in oil as well as the bottom of the left carb. It seems to be coming from the crank case breather tank and the ho...

Re: saw this so passing it on - How to remove your carbs on a honda goldwing 1500

I am currently doing exactly the same thing to my 88, the 2 videos that you posted are the best sources I could find as well. I will say that his advice to take a break and walk away when you get frustrated is great advice! I got the carbs off about an hour ago, wow! What a job! If I can be of assis...

I have stripped my 88 1500 wing down and it is sitting naked!!! I am thinking that I will replace all the vacuum lines at this point, so I will NEVER have to ...

Who will Rebuild and Sync Carbs? 88 GL1500

Hello Everyone, I am at the point of taking the carbs off my 88 Gl1500, chasing some vacuum leaks and fixing smaller issues while I wait for some parts for my timing belt replacement job. So I am here working on the bike and knowing that the carbs are coming off next, They should probably be cleaned...

Re: Timing Belt Has a Bunch of Red Powder/debris?

I found the article again and it does say of you find Red Powder around the tension pulleys to replace them! Well, the red powder is all over everything, so I am guessing I have been riding on borrowed time!!! I ordered the parts and will work on the bikes other small issues while ALL the plastic is...

Timing Belt Has a Bunch of Red Powder/debris?

Hello everyone, I have and 88 Wing with close to 60K on the bike. I am the third maybe fourth owner. I went ahead an ordered all the parts that I thought I would need and am now attempting to do the timing belt replacement. I bought all new seals for the covers, new belts and new plugs. Re: Are All Gl1500 seats/saddles the same?

Thanks everyone, You all pretty much confirmed my thoughts. To take the saddle to a shop and have them redo it and the back passenger back pad will cost more then a newer OEM seat and a Back Pad. I will buy both the back pad and the seat from the same model so they will match. My bike is the Beige 8...

Re: Are All Gl1500 seats/saddles the same?

Thank you for the reply, I think the different part numbers for the year are the color choices, I see that there is a type 1,2,3,4 as well. I was thinking that the type might be the same from year to year. Type 1 is a 88 89, 90 and then you see type 1 in several other years, but those years have sev...

Are All Gl1500 seats/saddles the same?

Hello everyone, my 88 wings seat is starting to pull apart. It is the original, so I think it did pretty good! The passenger back rest pad has also seen better days! So I have been watching ebay for a replacement and even thought about just getting a replacement skin and doing it myself. But, I have...

You can go back to gear best and check on your order. It will appear in the my account section. It will give you a tracking number. Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

Well, I started this Post a while back, I am here to say again, this was the best $35 I have spent on my Bike ever!!! I have a couple thousand miles of use on it and it has withstood, some rain and sitting idle for a week. This little gadget works as I said it does and still impresses me every time ...

Re: best tire that has long life and best ride

I ride more close to a 600+ miles a week and live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The Heat here is crazy hot and I also travel on about 40 miles of grooved pavement a day, which eats tires like crazy!! I have been riding on the Dunlop E4 for close to 20K miles and have 1 summer on them and they look a...

Tapping sound issue,(1988 Gl1500 36K miles) I had this tapping sound, especially when the bike was parked for a few days. It would tap/click like a telegraph while the bike warmed up. Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

This product gets TWO THUMBS UP from me!! My unit was on "flash sale" for $29.99!! Great upgrade and good bang for my buck. Easily mounts on the helmet, mine is an older modular Nolan Helmet, and connects easily with my iPhone for all of my iPhone "playlists". Sound is very good at 70+ on the freew...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

Shawn4245, , sounds like your helmet is similar to mine, open face/full face (if I'm not gonna smoke). Your "review" of the BT-S2 sounds good, but does the mic get in your way when you close the helmet to "full-face" mode? I'm thinking I can avoid any issues by placing the main controller back far ...
