Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

Well, I started this Post a while back, I am here to say again, this was the best $35 I have spent on my Bike ever!!! I have a couple thousand miles of use on it and it has withstood, some rain and sitting idle for a week. This little gadget works as I said it does and still impresses me every time ...

Re: best tire that has long life and best ride

I ride more close to a 600+ miles a week and live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The Heat here is crazy hot and I also travel on about 40 miles of grooved pavement a day, which eats tires like crazy!! I have been riding on the Dunlop E4 for close to 20K miles and have 1 summer on them and they look a...

Tapping sound issue,(1988 Gl1500 36K miles) I had this tapping sound, especially when the bike was parked for a few days. It would tap/click like a telegraph while the bike warmed up. I was a new bike to me and this really concerned me. I did a bunch of reading here and even sent a few PM's to get s...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

This product gets TWO THUMBS UP from me!! My unit was on "flash sale" for $29.99!! Great upgrade and good bang for my buck. Easily mounts on the helmet, mine is an older modular Nolan Helmet, and connects easily with my iPhone for all of my iPhone "playlists". Sound is very good at 70+ on the freew...

Re: I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent! BT-S2 1000m Bluetooth Headset Review

Shawn4245, , sounds like your helmet is similar to mine, open face/full face (if I'm not gonna smoke). Your "review" of the BT-S2 sounds good, but does the mic get in your way when you close the helmet to "full-face" mode? I'm thinking I can avoid any issues by placing the main controller back far ...

Re: OMG!!! I Cut The CORD!!!!! Best $35 spent!

What was the speed when you used the phone? I have a helmet that is a full face that opens to a half helmet. So with the helmet fully open and with the windshield vent fully opened and crusing at 70mph in traffic, no one knew I was on my bike...that is why I was so impressed!!! Music was super clea...

Re: 1988 gl1500 Fuel Cap Difference?

Thanks for the reply, I have no visible gas on the catch tray or around the gas filter. I just rebuilt the petcock, thinking that was the issue. I replaced the fuel filter and a couple of vacuum lines as well. The petcock internal parts look just like the new parts. The PO might have done the same r...

1988 gl1500 Fuel Cap Difference?

Hello Everyone, I have a 1988 1500, I have recently rebuilt the fuel petcock, because I was trying to find the reason my bike smells of fuel after I take it for a ride and then park it. The smell is VERY strong. I open the gas cap to release the pressure in the tank and then put the cap back on tigh...

88/1500 Left Turn Signal looses power and fades out.

I am lost at this point. Here is what is happening. Today on my 60 mile trip to work, When I turned on my left turn signal, the dash indicator light was very dim. It would blink but slowly. I noticed the LCD screen was also flickering like it was loosing power as well. The right turn signal worked n...

Best way to repair a crack in the plastic?

Good afternoon everyone, Today while checking the oil, I noticed a crack on the panel that covers this area. It is on the lower left corner of the panel right of the post that pushes into the rubber grommet. I need to stop this from further damage and ultimately from loosing this panel. I have an 88...

Re: Fuel Mileage poll

I ride an 88 Wing as a daily driver, I ride 100+ miles a day, 4200 miles a month with about 10 miles at 75mph, the rest is 57-62mph. No real stops and goes to speak of. I get 38mph consistently for 6 months. I am happy with that. I am a heavy rider 250lbs, so that is really good if you ask me. Now, ...

On right side of engine just in back of oil dipstick is the reverse switch which must have continuity to ground with reverse lever in forward position. Redo the test of the green/red up top with a jumper wire from switch on side of engine to a good engine ground point (leave switch wire attached), ...

Re: 1988 1500 will not start, but will hot wire start!

Kill switch and the start button work properly. The small wires yellow/red and brown/red are energized. Well then that means the brown/red wire is not grounding out like it should. Does your neutral light work? Under the seat on the crossmember towards the right side at back of fuel tank next to bi...

Re: 1988 1500 will not start, but will hot wire start!

A $2 12v test light could have saved you hundreds of dollars in the replacement of good parts. The A relay is to the right of battery and B relay to the left. Test for voltage on small wires of relay A both the yellow/red and brown/red with starter button pushed. Are these OEM parts or something el...

Re: 1988 1500 will not start, but will hot wire start!

Did you load check the battery? When you jump the solenoid with a screwdriver you are making a high amperage connection and I think you are bypassing a couple circuits which allows more battery power for the starter. If the PO hasn't replaced the battery recently it may be failing and not have quit...
