Re: Air Rider seat set for sale GL1500

I don't blame you. I paid twelve hundred for a seat for my VTX. Won't mention the name but it was not much better than the stock seat. It appears to be a stock seat pan with the air rider built on it. Very sound very sturdy. A very nice seat. First sitting down it feels full and when you push the b...

Air Rider seat set for sale GL1500

[/img] I paid $125.00 that's all I want, plus shipping which is about ten bucks. Or it was back then. It works by pushing the small pointed button on the left side. Hold until you feel like stopping. It feels like its on the pan all the way down. To re-inflate raise yourself up and it will. That mea...

Re: 5 to 4 harness

I have a trailer with the round five wire hook-up and its great. I did pull a H.F. trailer with a clamshell topper on it and the converter I got had to be protected from the elements. It worked just fine though. http://goldwingdocs.com/UserImages/vtxcandyred_8130/Trailer_439/trailer_2419.jpg http:/...

Re: Bias verses Radial Tires

For the record. I now have the Dunlop run flat on the rear and a Battleaxe "rear" tire mounted on the front with the arrow and it works just fine.

alternator charging???

Not good at liking things up. The battery discharges. I will have it tested but I want to test the alternator. I have a Radio shack cheapy meter. It appears as though I have under twelve volts at the battery with the bike running above idle and about twelve to almost thirteen volts key off. Engine ...

I won't even bother trying to look this up. With the bleeder open and pull the clutch no increase in the flow. Master or slave cylinder? Alls full.

Why do you run 48psi. I use the Dunlop run flat at 40. I guess I like it a bit smoother on the backside.

I believe MY best improvement was re-wiring the cruise. It will hold speed as fast as I want to take it.

Hell. I just remembered I have it on the 1500 too. Makes the forks more rigid. HELPS big time.

Re: 1200 Dies once warmed up

What little I remember about working on engines and its not much, is it sounds like a carburator problem. Like vacumn or lack of. Hardened rubber lines in and around the carbs. I doubt if it electrical.

I put a piece of tape between the lever and the switch and it works. Its cheap and easy to replace.

Re: Replacing original rear Master cylinder with A Brembo.

About the only advice I can think of is to be gebtle when you put the bike back on the road. I'm wondering WHAT could have been so wrong with the old one that you felt the need to go a different route instead of rebuilding. ???

Re: Cleaning alloy wheels

What's a good Eco-friendly product (or home-grown solution) for cleaning old (1984 Aspencade) wheels?
I really dont know of one myself. If the bike is that old and the wheels are very bad I would use whatever it took to clean them. Sometimes theres just no hope if the wheels are very bad.

I too have the Markland boards and can't imagine my feet further apart. It makes my hips sore if I do. I took the front boards off and use the hiway pegs with the Markland boards and I can move my feet pretty good.
