auxillary voltage regulator
I know it seems like an easy fix. The regulator is right there under the left panel. Seems to be held in by just a few clips. Damned if I can get it to move in or out. Would really like to remove and replace as it is showing all the classic symptoms of breaking down. Fuel gauge and temp gauge showin...

Re: Killswitch/throttle cables
Thought I was going to have to pull an all nighter. Managed to get the switch fixed tho. Joined the wire to another one to lengthen the broken wire then soldered that to the connection. Hope it lasts. Will take it for a short ride tomorrow and see.

Re: Killswitch/throttle cables
This is the culprit. A short ( what color, I'm color blind) wire leading to the start button. If I knew the color I might be able to ( if its ground( ) I might be able to fix. tight spot tho. Any one know if the starter button wire has any room to move in the handle bar. Would be nice if I co...

Killswitch/throttle cables
:( I have successfully re+re the throttle cable which broke on me 2 days ago. That was easier than I expected( to change the throttle cables) and frustrating because of some stripped srcews. I even got that sorted out after a little storm braining and some drills. But damn, I'm stomped cause no the ...

Re: Love/Hate relationship
 Before I knew what I was doing I had the cable itself drawn into the covering and then it wouldn't go back. Have already removed the cable but have discovered the screws holding the killswitch/throttle housing have the heads stripped. :( Have found a new pull throttle cable that is supposed t...

Re: Love/Hate relationship
Sorry, no warning. I checked these as I checked all connections when I lubed the cables. The soldering holding the cable in place gave way allowing the cable to slide thru the retainer. There was no fraying or even any worn spots. On looking at the cable after it looks almost brand new. no rust or w...

gas milage
Last weekend after finishing up some work ( electrical) I took my 77gw for a spin and got roughly 42 mpg. Took it out today ( nice and sunny) and only got 36 mpg. Everything seemed to be running smoothly and I averaged 3000 rpm, also noticed that my fuel filter seemed to be only half full, the rest ...

Re: Air in gas line
Sorry to hear you're still having problems. If you need someone to service the carbs I can recommend my mechanic at Annex motorcycle parts in Nanaimo, or Classic motorcycles in Errington(just outside Parksville in Coombs). Annex definetely charges less and rides a GW himself. He's doing my water pum...
