Re: LED Lamps & Flasher for GL1800

I replaced my rear and fr turn/stop with Led's from So Cal. They say on their web site the flasher control does not have to be replaced. But the Led's will flash faster than stock. They are correct.
I'm glad I made the switch!

If you are talking about the cheap after market HDS scanner it wont work. Bought one to check my two Acuras, tried it on my 2006 and it didn't work.
The one I'm asking about is for motorcycles only.

On Board Diagnostics

Has anybody tried the diagnostic tool on E-bay? Plug it into the diagnostic 4 pin connector and that plugs into a black box which you then plug your lap top into. Apparently you can get real time readings, and save them to your computer. Its always bugged me I couldn't plug my OBDII scan tool into t...

Re: The loneliest road in America???

Actually I am looking forward now to that leg of the trip across Nevada. Our route through northern California and southern Oregon will have to change however. I planned to go the Crater Lake route but after researching weather conditions, late May to early June, it seems the roads there don't even...

Re: The loneliest road in America???

Beautiful road with great scenery and it beats the heck out of I-80 through Nevada. I've crossed it many many times since moving here. I say try it if you get the chance.

Yea I went with the Socal gear LED's very happy with them. You dont really need to swap the flasher. But if you don't change it your flashers will work very rapidly.

Re: Testing THERMISTORS?

Go back and recheck your work..And are you sure the grips still work but not the seat? On my 06 I'm sure
I've noticed if the seat is not plugged in correctly the grips don't work. And its also possible to switch the grip
connectors backwards. Then they will not work...

If you have high mileage I'd suggest replacing the throttle cables if you swap out the switch cluster.

Re: Cylinder compression

I borrowed a tester from Autozone and it clearly is in better shape than my old one. Cylinder 1 is 190. #3 is 185 with the rest being 170 through 176. There is 10% difference between the high and low, which is fine. But I was hoping for just a little better.... How many bumps to get to your reading...

Re: Cylinder compression

All six are 155 to 160 PSI. But the manual calls for 201 PSI. Has anybody else run a compression check and what did you find? Yes ... on many, and I too have always wondered about the Honda spec of 201 PSI after 5 bumps from the starter. In the Service Manual it says to take a reading after crankin...

Re: Cylinder compression

They are all pretty close which is good. Did you have the engine warm and the throttle open? I was very happy too get such a tight group. The engine was warm and I held the throttle wide open. Another member suggested that the hose on my gauge may be to long and that will give a lower reading. The ...

Re: Cylinder compression

The gauge that you use makes a huge difference, I find pressure gauges with long hoses always read much lower than gauges with short hoses (length of the line from the spark plug hole to the actual gauge), as FlyBoy states, the actual value is not really that critical, it is important to have the s...

I removed all my plastic cover pieces on my 2016 F6B to have them painted. With all the plastic off the bike I tried to start the bike to move it. The bike just turns over but will not start. Interesting. Now that I think of it, I used a different brand of oil than usual on the last change. It has been 1000 miles or so and it won’t kill me to change it again. Worth a try.

Dosent it just unscrew from the block? I'm sure you'd have too drop the exhaust system too get at it.
