The reason it doesn't feel as fast as your XJ1100 is that it has about 400LBS of tupper ware on it if its dressed . I have both dressed and naked and boy does the naked one fly and if i want the dressed one will get up and go if if you wind it up . And if your getting 53mpg out of the wing that's ab...

Ive got some Sportster mufflers on my 82 naked they fit right up to the stock headers and line up with the stock mounting bracket . They cost me 25 bucks off of Ebay they sound real nice don't get the ones with the cross over pipe . And i have a set of touring mufflers that im going to put on my dre...

Do not buy any thing from saber cycles or barracuda parts its the same people . Do a site search for saber cycles and see what comes up

You may need to check the floats in the carbs as this happened on my 82 the other week was full of gas in the jugs

82brakes should bolt straight on 83 brakes will not work due to the linked brakes and one of the front brakes being smaller than the other

that looks like a chrome fuel pump cover not a heat shield that may be why there not one on the otherside

Like all old things its just preventive maintenance . On my 83 which i rebuilt 5 years ago i just rebuilt the forks the 30 year old seals had gone bad as long as you keep a eye on it . Mine will wobble at the front if you ride it with one hand and the superbrace it dont need one it has a factory bra...
