Re: Front forks

As long as the forks are off, why not drill and tap the TOP?

Re: Wanted for 1984 Interstate

Until you find one, a little epoxy(or even superglue) should stop it from making a mess.

Re: 2000 1500 unstable under stress in corners.

Mine will pick up a wobble but not until an indicated 105mph- which I only did once. I run my shocks with about 54-58psi and around 44 lbs in the back tires. There should not be any squirming or wiggling at only 65mph. If everything else checks out, all I can think of is that something else out of wh...

Re: 2000 1500 unstable under stress in corners.

If it's the front, take a good look at your fork oil. You state you've done everything, but have you changed the fork oil? Do a search on this site and see how to do it properly. I can't tell you how important that is. Also are you certain the wheel is balanced properly? This is one area that Dyna B...

Re: Dyna Beads

Would like to suggest an alternative to the Dyna Beads with an added benefit! http://www.ride-on.com/ Not only maintains tire/wheel balance, also offers puncture protection! Peruse the whole web sight. You may consider using this product on more than than just your motorcycle. Please note: this pro...

Re: hi all Newbee here to GL i need your help

There are a lot of different things that cause the shake. Besides the steering head bearings(torque and wear) an often overlooked area is the fork oil. It needs to be changed and accurately measured to assure proper operation. I also agree with the use of Dyna beads. They will help even a slightly b...

I remember reading about problems the heel-toe shifters can cause with the transmission. Hope you don't run into that.

Re: bias or radial

There are plenty of people running the Austone with a bias front. The sidewalls on the taxi tire are stiff- not like a regular radial. I ran that way for about two months before I changed my front tire and there wasn't any adverse change in handling.

Re: Prepping Your windshield for Rain

I have tried Pledge and it works well, but I use a spray detailer(protectorant). It works well for night riding, bugs don't stick too badly, and rain beads up and flows nicely. Plus it's a lot cheaper than Pledge, especially off brand names, which work just as well.

Re: bias or radial

Last year I went with an Austone on the rear of my bike. Being that it is a radial, I thought it only logical to try a radial on the front also, even though you can run it with a bias tire in front. I put on an ExcedraMax radial. The improvement in handling was unreal! The grip in the wet was unbeli...

Re: taking bugs off windshield of a goldwing

I use a spray protectorant. It doesn't matter which one, they all work as well. It's safe for the windshield and the bugs don't stick like using nothing. Simply spray on and wipe off with a soft handtowel. It's easy to carry both,as they take up minimum room in the bags or trunk.
