Re: What's Happening Today?

What's happening today? Hmmm, not riding that is for sure. 27 degrees and they put salt on the roads this time, they usually do "de-icer". So, all errands will be in the truck.

Vroom Vroom. Happy Holidays!

Re: Shorty windshield

I put a split windshield on my bike 2 years ago, and have to admit I really like it. Granted, to get affect of a short shield, I have to unscrew the top portion, but I do like it. Also, not very expensive, easy to install (look at my avatar for it). Of course, I picked it up at Cyclemax, lol.....hat...

Re: New to me GL1500SE, so much good info here!

I wish I did that to a vtwin I had, put a lock on the front wheel so that no one would steal the bike easily, got on it one sunny warm a.m., and off I went.......for about a foot, then "CLUNK" there went the lock and the bike immediately fell. I rolled on the ground, felt stupid once I realized (imm...

Re: 1989 GL1500 long warm up time

I did have it on my 89, was stuck up in Snoqualmie WA at an IHOP due to vacuum issue, had to put it on a flat bed and down the hill we went to the local shop, which fixed it pretty quick (1/2 day). I have not had any issues with my 88 at all (knock on wood) but everything was checked out when I purc...

Re: 1989 GL1500 long warm up time

I had an 89, and now an 88. I would start both with choke on, then let it run for about 30 seconds. After that, I would reduce choke to nothing, and then "blip" the throttle. If it bogs down, I let it idle with no choke. Seems by the time I fully get my chaps on, helmet on (jacket is usually already...

As bad as it sounds (and I am sure Admin and others will say "suck it up, buttercup"), we are mid 40s (not a prob much) but wet, yup, constant rain. Hmmm, time to take the AC down from the windows, and do the winterization I think.....what happened to summer?

.....and welcome to the crew, just down the I-5 from you several miles. Have to admit, when I first got on the 1500, it was a little daunting getting used to such a big bike, but took it easy, practiced my tight turns, etc., etc., and after running them for 25 years, love the damn things. Enjoy enjo...

Re: New 2018 Goldwing Survey

My view is - This bike is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.....no way I am going to spend $25k on a bike, I just can't get my pockets around that. This being said, when my 1500 decides to die, then I will need to decide what I want to do. What entices me to the wing is the manageability of its size. Yes, it is big...
