Adding pictures from iPhone

Postby Garycw » Wed Feb 15, 2012 6:03 am

Trying to add pictures to member pictures from iPhone without luck. I know this is not section to upload, but testing to see if shuttergly link works.

Apple has decided in their infinite wisdom to restrict iPhones from being able to do what you're trying to do. However, have a look at this thread, there's a couple apps that purport to be able to do it for you.

Hi one and all. I just looked at the GREAT pics, of garycw. That bike has some lites, on it. I've been reading and watching, the posts. Did I miss something, about the STATOR, not being able to handle, a lot of lites. I have been, fighting, the feeling, of adding lites.........or anything, for that matter. This is a fantastic site. I'm a car nut, and I love my "get away from" Aspencade. I've been reading the How-To articles, cause it's time for a Major check up. Thanks to ALL, :D

Hi gold1200,
There are quite a few lights on it, although it has switches to turn on & off separately the lowest row of trunk lights, fork lights, aux driving lights & radiator grill lights. There are still extra lights that are on all the time. However with everything running , I'm still showing 14+ volts as long as its at least 1300-1400 rpm's. I'm not sure if stater has ever been replaced, but I know the connector plug has been eliminated & soldered. If it ever does go out I would be converting to an alternator.

PS... It would still be better if all lights were LED, the turn signal relay electronic & the headlight bi-xenon hi/ low HID system.

I plug my iphone into my computer and manually open the file to get to the pics. I copy and paste into my photos album on my computer then upload to photobucket.

Thanks, I can get them off the phone to pc, but the iPhone 4 has such a high megapixel it won't upload on site in signature or for aviatrar. I'm not sure how to resize and still be usable. I have different camera to use now in the VGA mode which are small files.

What's it telling you when you try to upload as an avatar?

It's telling me picture file must be within a certain size. I assume it's too large.
I can upload to shuttergly then post link, but still cannot get in signature or use for avitar. I will try to take some with camera that the redolution can be changed to lower and see if that works.

Don't buy a new camera.Load the pix into PAINT.Go to "image...stretch-skew" reduce the pix by 75% then save as a JPG.This will reduce a 4mb pix to a more manageable size.

You can play with the re-sizing percentage, but on my I-Phone I reduce by 75%.Meaning in the field it says 25 not 75

Hm...I have the maximum size at 10 MB - is your picture file larger than that? As long as it's less than 10 MB, it should take what you send it, and automatically scale it down to the correct size for the avatar. Let me know.
