New member here just stopped by, usually hang out on Steves site. Just sayin hi for now will have lots of questions, Have 2 wings, 84 1200I and 94 1500SE. both run well, 84 needs rear brake work and trunk replaced, 94 has radio issues but other than that its ready for the road. Haven't done any trips yet but hope to get some mileage in this summer. That is all for now more later. Ride safe everyone and thanks for having me along.

Hey there. Not only am I new here but a new wing owner (and newly licensed). I've been wanting to get a bike for a while but decided to just go out and get my license (and training course). Then my brother-in-law gave me his '84 1200 last fall. I need to do some starter work this winter. I saw some to the DYI tips and the manual will be a big help. Thanks for the site and forum. :)

Welcome NewWinger - that's quite a bike to start on! Just remember that everyone out there is trying to kill you, and you'll do fine. :)

Welcome to the site, and hope we can help you in the future!

Yeah! I did get to do some riding on back roads last fall. Took it slow and easy for a bit to adjust to the bike. Like anything- practice, practice, practice. Gives me another excuse to go riding :)

He is Phil. He plans on buying a new bike this spring. Said it was mine if I wanted to put a little work into it. So far I replaced the battery and horn. Now I need to fix the starter(?).

It spins up but sounds like grinding. If I roll it backwards a bit, the starter will engage and it will turn over.

Thanks, Rick
