Let's Ride!

Postby Tinslinger » Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:39 pm

Well Wednesday just turned out to be too good NOT to ride, so I took a leisurely cruise east through the Metro Parks and got home just as dusk turning to evening. As I was headed east, I was lucky enough to see a beautiful full moon crest the hills before taking shelter in the clouds. If you're ever in the area, I like to ride about 4PM for a couple hours. Come on Spring! Also, on Sunday I may be taking a short sprint down to Columbus to grab a baton and try to get it to Michigan. Anyone is welcome to ride along.

I'd love to,but it would take too long to get there from Baton Rouge Louisiana.I'm gonna ride to Avery Island next weekend. This weekend is inside work.Expected rain starting as soon as I get off Friday
Momma says I need to get the ceramic tile done in the computer room anyways.
Keep the momma happy :)

Actually, I'm lying - I've taken a bit more of it apart since I took that picture.

I'm with ya there WingAdmin. My trike looked just about like that 2 weeks ago. I haven't been over to the shop to see what's been done to it lately, but I hope to hear from my mechanic SOON!!! With the nice weather around here in IL, I am ready to ride.

I'm far beyond the fixing stage...I'm now at the "replacing" and "adding" stage. :)

Had a nice ride today, 290 miles to Columbus and back. According to my Wing, we hit 70 degrees today. We also had a chance to make our first stop into Iron Pony and picked up a couple jackets that were on sale. It was a great day, until on the way home we witnessed a minor accident where a van driver pulled out in front of a HD Super Glide. The biker laid it down and only suffered some scrapes. Be careful out there!

We didn't get that warm here next to Lake Michigan.I saw we had 64 for a few hours, and bikes were out enjoying
the warm WX.It sure doesn't take them long to get the rides out of moth-balls and on the road again.Like you say, we have to get our defensive driving skills out of moth balls once again too, driving a cycle. At least when you came upon that accident you didn't have to witness fatality.Sounds like you had a very nice ride, being on for about 5 hours.

Well, it's in the mid 80's here so I am riding every day. Retired life is fun!! A typical Saturday or Sunday ride for me might be a run from Sarasota to South Beach (Miami), or Ft. Lauderdale or north up to the Crystal River area. I am able to do that at least once a month.
Making plans for my trip this summer. Auto Train from Orlando to D.C., ROLLING THUNDER over Memorial Day, sightseeing in D.C. for a few days then over to Ohio (Akron/Cleveland) to visit the son and brother and finally the BLUE RIDGE PKWY back south.

Got out between thunderstorms today. Beautiful ride through the Metro Parks, 72 degrees. The biggest accomplishment is that we just put 1000 miles on the bike this year, and it's not even spring yet!

Well I didn't make it out this weekend, but I did manage to get my bike together so that I was able to take the first ride of the season this morning...commuting to work. Not thrilling, but hey, I was out!

I think every motorcycle in the United States went past my house this week end. :o :o
I was in my T-shirt in the drive way, just waveing as they went by.We didn't get as warm as in the middle of the
state ( WIS ) here on the shore of Lake Michigan it was 64. But I did manage to repair a lawnmower, and wish I
had the cycle ready for the season.

Hi Det,Probably still snowing on the other side of the lake (Michigan ) No wonder your not riding
Not that warm on this side either. My cycle is in brothers garage about two mikles away, and waiting some to warm up so I can install new rear lights on the kit I installed last season.A lot of people still think we are going to get one more blast of that white stuff.I sure hope not, waiting my self to get out and ride.
