Guess what?

Postby gnarlyroad » Wed Jan 20, 2010 12:27 am

If you're thinking a new member you are correct. Just purchased a1977 gl1000(well, will on Sunday when I pick it up). Sure am excited. Always admired these bikes(especially the older ones) and am looking forward to my first ride. Will certainly make use of this site if I need too. I have owned bikes in the past and have some experience at dyi. How useful are the online manuals on this site? If you were to buy a manual which would you get, Haynes or Clymer? See you on the road.

Congratulations on your new purchase! I'm sure you're going to love your new Wing!

Honestly, if I were to spend the money to buy a manual (and I have), I would buy the actual Honda service manual. It covers much more detail than either the Haynes or Clymer manuals, and has far less inaccuracies.

Also welcome to this site ( Gnarlyroad ) from WI, south of you but still cold.. looks like you will still have time to check over your new Bike.
Talking about manuals, you can down load on this site which will help. You also will find the help files and picture repairs
can't get any better. I also purchased a older GW late fall, a 1982 1100 A with only 55K and have been up grading lots because this site is so help full. I sure feel your excitement picking up that bike, thats how I felt when I got on last fall. And I'm 70 years young. I sure wish you good luck with the new ride. Let us know how things go!!
