gremlins

Postby firstwing85 » Tue Mar 27, 2012 4:00 pm

hello friends, just a quick story of what happened last Sunday.
it was a beautiful day and went for a ride, stopped for a visit with a friend who is also a member here.
she gave me a gremlin bell, as I left to go back home I smelled what seemed like like rubber.
stopped and took a look around but didn't see anything,
(I didn't have the gremlin bell mounted yet so I think that one of the gremlins decided to get me one more time before I get it mounted.)
when I continued to go home I noticed that my volt meter was only sitting at 12v when it normally reads about 14.1 to 14.3
when I got home I took a look around again and found the problem, one of the prongs of the stator plug overheated and burned the one wire right off so I had only 2 wires charging now.
I removed the plug altogether and hardwired the wires directly and sealed them with shrink tube.
