A Birthday present for me/or How to tick off LittleBeaver

Postby RoadRogue » Sun Apr 08, 2012 11:28 pm

I started out looking for a tent trailer to pull behind my 1100, what I found was a package deal. After a week of emailing back and forth Including 64 Hi res pictures I booked a flight to go and look at it.
Marcel picked me up at the airport In Victoria BC and took me back to his place. After checking the bike out and agreeing on the price he and his wife Tonya invited me to dine with his family and even gave me the guest room in his home for the night. we went to the bank and Insurance agent the next morning(Saturday) and then it was official. Here is a pic of the turn over of the keys . 8-) Thats me on the left

Of course the real reason was just to tick off Martin   She is a Black 97 SE with 140K Km or 90K miles on her.Cosmetically a little rough but I can fix at all easily and cheaply. The trailer is all Aluminum construction and is a tent trailer, pulls along like its not even there.900Km Ride home ,the first of the season for me, and the bike was so comfortable that I could have just kept on going laughing maniacly all the way.

I will still check in on the 1100 forum even if its just to see what Little Beaver is up to  but will be hanging out in the 1500 forum more now.

Ride safe, Todd

It is always really cool when you can get it all at once for the right price, AND THEN RIDE IT HOME....... That is just super, dude. I wish you all the best with making it as pretty as can be.

Thanx for the birthday wishes gang. Its not every year you turn 50, so I thought instead of buying a sports car and trying to recapture my youth (like I ever grew up in the first place) I would embrace my inner-geezer with a new to me geezer-glide, and now I dont have to sleep on the ground these older bones are a little happier. I will of course post better pics when I can , but in reality it is just like every other mostly stock 1500SE out there, that wont last long though. I have my own touches to add to personalize her. 8-)

Well, I am not fortunate enough to have multiple bikes, so I do not have a 1500, but the "Geezer Glide" on the back of my Geezerglide stands for "Geezer Glide" - Hawwww.

I am going to have to steal the "geezer glide" decal idea from you MainViking.

Beave knows Im just razzing him, we are actually friends, unless I bring home an 1800 too. Then all bets are off

I was going through the saddle bags tonight to see what was left in them and found a brand new Super Brace fork brace, 8-) Now the bike is giving me presents for itself. So as a reward I installed it, I also found a kit to install satelite radio into the stock stereo (fits 1500 and 1800) dont know if I will use this item at all, might trade it for something though............ Whats in this saddle bag? 8-) 8-) even better......... a Power Plate kit. This I will use.

No Problem RoadRogue. You can "borrow" the  but you have to give the it back when you are finished with it,

And I understand the brotherhood you have with the Beave. It is okay to one up your buddies, but two upping is decrepit.

Power plate is great, I bought one to put into my 1500. I'm curious as to what the satellite radio interface consists of, knowing that the 1500 and 1800 stereos are completely different, electrically speaking.

Very nice looking setup....both the bike and the trailer look nice. I like the idea of that tent trailer.

When I turned 50, my wife didn't want me having a midlife crisis with someone else, so she was wonderful and got me a 2004 1800 wing. Had it a couple of years and then had to sell to pay some med bills....ouch!

But then last year for my birthday I got the old 1100 and is has been great. I really appreciate both rides and the wife that got them for me. So far....one good wife and two great wings.

I am also interested in the Sat kit. I have a Sirius Sportster 4 and would love to find a way to hook my sat receiver up.

Ok heres the info on the satellite radio mounting kit, It is a J&M #SRMK-gl1815 (it is made for the 1500 and the 1800) which I cant find on their website but is very similar to model # SRMK-UN02 which is a "universal" kit.Or can be seen here http://www.directlineparts.com/product.asp?pid=3802

Ah,that makes more sense, then. It's a power/GLI/mounting kit, not an AUX in kit (it hooks up to the Aux in on the GL1800, and who knows? how it hooks into the GL1500).
