Jeesy Creesy....what does this bike not have? Toaster? Margarita Maker? lol. I have to tell ya, I am just starting to work on my bike and looking to do some of the things you did (satellite, LED, etc.) but with little experience, so I figure if I am going to screw up my 88, I might as well practice on that one than something newer. Thx for the inspiration. (wife is gonna hate me...."you bought a what????")

By the time ya finish the preflight check on that thing It's dark again and time to go to bed! Too much extra stuff. I personally don't see the need for most of it. Definately not for me!

I woulda said the same thing, but as I find as I get older, I get in to the "more comfy, more info" stage of my life.....hell, never thought I would need seat heaters in the car, and let me tell you each car I get here on out will have them ;)

When I saw the first video of 1100, I wondered why this was up again !
I just scrolled down a bit and saw why.I go along with all the added features, but didn't see a indicater
for the kick stand down.Or does that 1500 have a built in safety feature.I seem to remember it does.

So all I have to do now is sell the house and buy one like that   Well, I'm happy for you,and that video was great.

The 1500 (and pretty much every bike from 1980's onward) will kill the engine if you put it into gear with the kickstand down. This feature didn't exist in the GL1100, which is why I put that indicator on there.

I did a 700-mile trip this weekend, and the first leg, on Friday night, it got down to 34 degrees (shown on my display). I was happy to have the heated gear! On my way home yesterday afternoon, it was long hours on a boring freeway, and the satellite radio helps pass that time. So I'll keep my "gadgets." :)
