I should have known that the bike was going to surprise me with little tricks that add up. Thank heaven for this site and the internet for locating parts.
I did the exact same thing - bought my 82 Aspencade, and was told it was in perfect shape - and for the most part, from what I could tell at the time, it was. I had a few small problems crop up that I was able to fix. But the more I started to learn about it, the more I realized I needed (i.e. wanted) to do to it, so the dollars start to creep up. I haven't totaled up how much I've spent on it, because if my wife ever found out, she'd probably kill me, so I'm safer not knowing.WA9FWT wrote:I know just what you mean about cost in getting it all in shape. I bought late in the season a 1982 GW-A and was told it was in A1
shape. well, I guess it was for him but not for me. I stopped counting $$$$ after a Grand ,and still a lot more to go.But I must say, this site and our administrator has been so much help I can't thank him enough.good luck with your new ride.
