My First Post

Postby slowpoke » Mon May 21, 2012 6:31 pm

Just wanted to say what a great site this is and what a great group of guys. I just awoke my 81 1100I after a two year sleep. Anyway just one example of the time and money you guys saved me. I went to start the engine this past Sunday. No click, no groan, nothing but low voltage showing on the meter. I had left the gas on overnight. So instead of ripping out my hair by the roots troubleshooting the electrics, I simply pulled the plugs, cleared the hydraulic lock and rode away.
I learned this from this site so thanks again and thanks to wing administrator for the how to articles.
Happy Trails.

Glad to have you here, and even more glad to hear that you've learned something useful that you were able to apply to your bike!

Welcome to the site, now you know how to unlock the engine, how about overhauling the carbs so you don't have the problem again!! :D

Just pulling your leg, but a good carb overhaul is probably not a bad idea!!

Yes, diagnosed with both prostate ca and mantle cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in the last three months. Lymphoma takes precedence over prostate. 21 day rotation hospital for 3-4 days, home the rest to recoup. 4 months of that approximately, then stem cell transfusion. About 6months total. Then we worry about the prostate ca. Who knows how long that will keep me down.
Any and all good thoughts and prayers are willingly accepted. But don't feel the need to respond to this, just send the thoughts and prayer.
We have agent orange to thank.

[quote="thrasherg"]Welcome to the site, now you know how to unlock the engine, how about overhauling the carbs so you don't have the problem again!! :D

As I have painfully learned, even a overhauled carb can burp.
I don't have that problem anymore because I turn off the fuel when I parked at the end of the day. ;)
I guess that's why "they"put the thing there for anyways....might as well use it. :?:
Now when "they" started using auto fuel cutoff valves, all my worries went away...Yea right
