Goldwing camping & trip planner

Postby Davek80514 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 3:30 pm

I'm looking for a camping & trip planner that is Android compatible to use for our trip to Arkansas and on other trips. This way we can figure out where to camp and setup reservations before hand. Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance.

You need a firm grip on the earth if you visit New Zealand, it shakes around a bit! Hey, Kiwi, what rubber do you use to hang on to the road during those earthquakes? NZ does have some interesting rides, though, but if the road gets a bit blurry then you know it is not the cold that has got you, it is just another earthquake.

But to get back to the original question of a camping trip planner, I have a Garmin-ASUS mobile (cell) phone that has the mapping already built-in. I can plan out a route and then execute the route on this Android mobile/cell phone. Just another idea.

I use ice tyres, you know ...... the ones with the metal nail things in them, they have a fantastic grip when going round corners and hang onto the road like grit (well I think thats the word) on a blanket when the road is going up and down as well as side ways.

The best trip planner I have found and I have tried most is the Harley Davidson Ride Planner. Very user friendly.

I use Microsoft Streets and Trips in a netbook. Could also be used in a tablet, and maybe in a smartphone, but I know nothing about smartphones, so maybe not

Then I use my Tom Tom or Magellan GPS to find myself, or on the bike, the Garmin built in. I also have a GPS antenna that I can use with the netbook, but I find that this method is a bit unhandy on the bike :o

On an aside, I agree with you Kiwi on facebook - not now, not never, nohow.

It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey
