New to the Forum

Postby Longhaultrucker » Fri Jul 13, 2012 12:55 pm

I am a newbie to this forum and thought an introduction was proper. I have been a ghost reader for about 6 months. Then got the surprise of my life. My loving wife of 15 years bought me a 1992 Aspencade! RED, with lots of chrome. I had a 1978 Goldwing in California that was my primary transportaion for about 6 years. Had 145,000 miles on it when it was sold. So...18 years later I am riding again. Learning about this new GL1500A and looking forward to another fun adventure.

You'll love the bike....well... it is a wing :)
In Co Spgs huh....
My wife has been there helping her Dad for a couple months now.At least the fires didn't get to her. She's on top of Fillmore hill.
Don't forget to stop by Trivelli's sub shop on north nevada before fillmore. They got the best philly steaks this side of Pa.Tell him the guy who lives in Louisiana told you to go there.(I helped his dad ,John, fix up the place over 20 years ago)

Welcome to the forum, really glad to hear you're up and riding again ! I recently joined this forum when I got my 84 GL1200 interstate and the folks on here have really helped me out a lot. Rode harley's most of my life, 1st goldwing so that made me a newbie (kind of). You have ANY questions just ask and folks will jump in and help, plus the "How Too" articles are top notch !!!! Keep the rubber side down and enjoy the ride !!!

P.S. My oldest daughter lives in Aurora CO. After I heal up from my back surgery, I plan on riding out there to visit her and the family, maybe we plan a meet and day trip while I'm out that way.
Rick.....

When you get headed to Colorado, give me a post. My job only has me home afew days a month. That being said, would still like to meetup. You are correct about the fellow site members, all seem willing to help us enjoy our common interests with the best tour bikes around.

I say "Keep her!!"......I stopped riding for about 10 years, then I wanted back in again....I just do not remember her saying "spend the xtra $$ for what you want" which would have been a lot newer bike....hence why I am here at this forum.

Welcome to the crew!

Welcome to the board/bored. If you are sitting there reading this, you aren't riding and neither am I. how about some photos of the Wing?

Thanks all for the welcome. I was home this weekend working hard on the "honey do" list. It never seems to get smaller! Did get to ride, even though it was about 5 miles, ok 35 miles to get propane for the BBQ! 20 lb bottle fit snuggly in the trunk. Not the best excuse to ride but...After chores were done did a little mountain ride up to Woodland Park CO. Good benders, lots of scenery. Will be getting some pictures uploaded soon. Thanks again!

Bubbzy, bustedwing thanks for comments. My wife is now the one insisting on planning one 2 week tour. This Goldwing purchase might have created a monster. She wants a trip to Seattle WA to see friends. And of course, seafood! Somethings she and I have traveled great distances in the past before to accomplish. But not on 2 wheels!!

Welcome... The board is great and lots of good info for the DIY biker. I currently have an 85 Aspy stripped to the frame and cleaning up wiring and trying to figure out if my Stator or Regulator is bad. In the mean time I have a 2006 GL1800 that is going to be my weekender if I ever get the 1200 fixed.

The name NOHANDS is a little backwards if you have a Gold wing stripped to the frame.Good thinking to have an extra tho, that way you can still ride, that stripped frame is kinda like Fred Flintstone.
