hi all from the uk ive just saved a gl1100 from the breakers in the uk it originaly came from elgin ohio its a black 81 interstate must have been standing a long time as the brake fluid has gone solid in the calipers and lines :shock: but changed the cambelts and cleaned the carbs and she fired right up and shot 2 dead mice out of the exhaust and a couple of pounds of seed :lol: :lol: just got to go over it and hopefully be back on the road soon yours alan

thank you all for the welcome im taking it for its mot test sat then hopefuly get it registered and hit the road in a couple of weeks all ive got to do is fix a white position light on the front as per uk regs yes the bike is quite nice now its cleaned up a bit its just a shame the rh pannier has deep gouges and paint damage from what looks like the tie down straps used in the shipping container but it can be sorted later if i ever get any cash together ps would you contact the previous owner to tell them about the bike or not as on the title it said previous owner deceased and the new owner was either his wife or daughter and i dont know how this sort of thing is percevied on your side of the pond yours alan

Looks to be in great physical condition....the pinstriping doesn't even look faded or damaged. Hope you can get it registrered, and that it was properly imported to England. Sometimes vehicles can be left behind because the owner brought it over to travel, then couldn't afford to/or care to bring it back.
If you have names/info on former owner/heirs, I always enjoy researching history of old vehicles. Might be able to make contact :) .
