Riding the TAT

Post by thrasherg » Fri Jul 20, 2012 4:06 pm

Well it's not goldwing related!! So I guess it goes here

I am just leaving with my wife and 2 best friends for a 2 week 2500mile dirt bike ride from the New Mexico/Colorado border to the pacific coast (Oregon) on dirt bikes, known as the TAT (Trans-America-Trail), it usually starts in eastern Tennessee but I don't have enough vacation to do it all. We are on 3 CRF450X's and my wife is on a CRF230F (All road legal). We hope to cover 170 to 200 miles a day, we all have oversize gas tanks and we have a SPOT with us so people can see our progress.. I have included the link for the SPOT if you want to take a look. I will not be able to check the internet whilst we are gone as I won't have a computer with me and my iPhone is too small and awkward to use for a lot of internet access!! Hopefully I will be back in 2 weeks with no new injuries and lots of stories!! Have fun whilst I am gone..

For the minute you can see out track as we drive a U-haul van from Seattle to Colorado springs with all the bikes inside!! The TAT ride starts Saturday (7/21/12) for real..
