cougar seen back of my house.

Postby jerryc17 » Wed Aug 01, 2012 9:22 am

I am a goldwing rider that likes to see the country views around michigan. Have to watch out for all types of wildlife crossing roads, and careless auto drivers. Now we have cougars as well. Do not know what i would do if one came in the road by me, other than get out of there as fast as possible

My advice (IMHO) is avoid the cougars. Even if they are wealthy. Try to date YOUNGER WOMEN.

We've had many cougar sightings around my area of Michigan, my brother lives down the road from me, saw one run past his house, and my nephew who lives about four miles north lost a goat he believes to a cougar and this is farm country!

They've been seen all up and down the east coast lately. I live in middle Ga. and according to the local game and fish folks there are no big cats in Ga. Guess they forgot to tell that the the one that was standing in my front yard last summer that turned looked at me and the just jumped across the roadway into the woods. Dogs don't have big round basketball heads and they don't move like this thing did.

We are originally from Michigan , a small town named marion near cadillac , anyhow we had seen one down back by the muskegon river when we were out two tracking in my truck, never seen any more until we moved to Montana , a friend who moved out there with us and myself went elk hunting in the rockies close to the ranch we worked on , we split up and each went down a differnt wash about half way down my horse started balking she stopped so i was already prepared for something about that time a cougar came off from under a large pine and ran straight up a rocky hill about 150 200 feet straight up in all but a second I swear ,dont remember when but I did manage to pull my revolver cuz it was still shaking in my hand and like was awe struck, if he woulda been so inclined Id been a cat turd and never even knew what happend. Now we live in North dakota and we have spotted tracks here behind our house so we'll see i guess.

Yep the cougars are getting bold here in Yale, my brother has seen one on his front porch twice now, and my nephew lost all his chickens recently. One goat and all his chickens, now we all have to be packing every time we venture outside!

Just remember, (especially if you have air horns) don't honk at a moose to try and get it to move. To them it's a cross between a mating call and a challenge call. Basically just pisses them off. Just think what a tall moose (who can look into a cabover truck window) would do to your poor puny bike (not to mention you).

I might be more advisable to watch out for cougars between peck and yale :D You never know what those cougars are up to, and what is wrong with cougars anyway? Us folk in the deep south would like to know what all the fuss is about. If you want to loose those chicky babes, then just leave the door open at night, and let the foxes in.
