Replacement seat covers

Postby jtm1500 » Sun Aug 05, 2012 8:21 pm

Are there any members with feedback regarding replacement seat covers? I have a 97 GL1500 seat with trashed OEM cover (the neighbors cat got in my garage...) but would prefer not Honda replacement...but dont want to break the bank either! I would appreciate any suggestions!
Thx Wingers!

Have you thought about an upholsterer? There is one that I use, and he seems to like a challenge.

Keep an eye on ebay....every now and then one comes along and is still in pretty good shape. There are also recovering kits on there that aren't to expensive.

Consider a "slip" cover. Could get one made, custom, by a local seamstress.

What about cat skin I think it would be fitting, maybe an orange Tabbie perhaps HAhA. And I think your neighbor should foot the bill.

Check EBAY for replacement seat covers they are arround $50-60 for thw GL1100, haven't checked for 1500. Also check out local auto upholstery shop and get an estimate. Might be worth it. Doug

I agree with those saying check the local upholstery shops. You are almost sure to have one that does automotive, and likely bikes as well. That does two things - it keeps your money local, in your community, and allows you to customize. There will be lots of fabric, color, and pattern choices to give you a one of a kind cover.

I did a quick search and got the following page with several shops listed in your general area.
