I'm in Va so it won't affect me other than a little rain.

Good luck wishes to those in the south.

I think Virgilmobile is down there North of New Orleans. Right in one of the projected the paths. Probably boarding up windows as we speak. Good luck Virgil.

Yes he is, I wonder if his place gets flooded out or not, oh boy , here we go again, poor folks in N.O ... As slow as this storm is going, that rain is going to dump some serious water in that Bowl down there..I have a brother in law just west of there...Thibedoux or something like that.. Mother in law in Alexandria..

Yup,it's coming straight for us.Were expecting sustained wind and rain for 48 hours starting Wednesday. Anticipated power outages and general bad things.
I have extra gas for the bike. You know....priorities and all.

Yeh, when it dumps rain like that sometimes the weight of the water on flat roofs like department stores will give way...I would not be surprised if that happens down there,, flooding in florida has got to be crazy scary with all the snakes and gators all knocking on your doorstep..Man here in Texas we are having a west nile virus scare, I hope this storm doesn't form a problem down that way in the future with this west nile crap, it could get ugly if one thinks about it..All along the gulf coast standing water everywhere, what a breeding ground ....  Not even funny...

I'd like to go somewhere but I'm needed here for emergency communications.
I'm the lucky one that has to keep it up and running

Just now starting to get the outer clouds here in Vicksburg, expecting the first rains after noon today.Got my Wing in my garage, grass mowed, generator full of gas, fylable items picked up from the yard and pantry stocked. Weather channel seems PO'd Isaac isn't a hurricane yet, I'd just as soon it stay at tropical storm myself but would like to see it pick up forward movement. don't like it slowing down out there.

We were in Bermuda when Bertha hit. That was an interesting day...ever the well-prepared tourists, our hurricane preparations consisted of a gallon jug of wine, a small bottle of Orangina, and some crackers:

We sat inside and watched pretty much a day of this:

By about 6 pm, we were REALLY hungry, so I went out in 60 mph winds on our little rented 49cc scooter to the only place we could find open, a small pizza shop. I had to ride blind with my eyes closed most of the time, as the rain was so violent, it was like needles being jammed into your eyeballs. I originally tried riding with goggles on, but couldn't see anything at all. Riding with my eyes closed and opening them now and again for a brief glimpse was the best I could manage. Two miles of riding like that, wearing a garbage bag as a shirt, through water up to 6 inches deep and winds that twice blew me right over, I made it to the pizza shop. They thought I was nuts. I made it back with a soggy pizza, and that night we dined like kings!

Actually...if I remember correctly, I took the garbage bag off that I was wearing, and wrapped it around the pizza box. It helped, but with 60 mph driven rain, a garbage bag wasn't keeping all the wetness out.

Has anyone heard from Virgilmobile ? Chance's of him losing power is great...My inlaws lost power for three weeks last time..I may have them come to San Antonio for a spell...No AC has got to be hard in 100 degree temps.. When we lived up in Kansas we sold a pop up trailer to a guy that was going to help rebuild after katrina..Gave him a really good price 700.00...

I must have been a narrow corridor.I lost electric twice for 5 minutes each.
Gusting winds were sporadic and up to 70mph,It did break one 100' pine in half and left it hanging.

Rain was just light and continuous,no flooding here, but it doesn't flood at my house anyways.
Went shopping Thursday for a new stereo bluetooth for my wifes tablet.
It was kinda of a non-eventful day.Even all the communication equipment stayed up,so no emergency calls.
Kinda of a let down actually.
