Wear a helmet.... PLEASE

Postby bwagner6 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 7:10 am

Fellow riders... I know this is a touchy subject with some but this week I lost a friend to an accident in which a helmet would certainly have saved his life. I personally won't leave the garage without my helmet straped on tight. Friends if you ride without a helmet please reconsider.... It could save your life! RIP David Moore

Sorry to hear about your friend. I agree with you, you never know when it will happen. I went to get a paper on Sunday and when I pulled into the gas station a guy was leaving on a motorcycle, cigarette in his mouth, rubber 'crocks' on his feet, balancing a bag on his lap and no helmet........

June 26 1978 late afternoon. My life would have ended that day had I not been wearing one. I had multiple head injuries, partially paralyzed and years of recovery, but I did recover.
April 20 2012 late afternoon. Again. my life would have ended had I not been wearing one. Again I had head injury, weeks of problems but again I did recover.
I'm not a brain bucket crusader, but if asked I'll tell it like it is.

when I went sliding down the road I sure was happy I had a helmet on. if not I may not have had an ear or side of my face.

August 15, 1987, I was on my 750 Interceptor, and had a little disagreement with a pickup truck over who was going where (he made a U-turn in front of me). I would not be here today if I had not been wearing my helmet.

Sorry to hear about your friend, but I think we're all aware of the risk we take every time we throw a leg over our bikes. When your number's up, it's up! Live for today for tomorrow you may not wake!
