Greetings from Anaheim Ca. I have a 84 standard and 85 Aspencade. Started riding Goldwings in 78 when I bought my first (used 76) that I wish I still had. :( Bought a 81 after that. There's just something I like about Goldwings.

Ahh! Yet another '84 STD. I also ride one. Beautiful big sportbikes without all the extra plastic. I don't blame anyone for choosing the comfort of being shielded from the wind and having all that extra handy storage space, but I suppose I'm just a bit of a purest. Not that I haven't had fairing, bags and trunk. I just sold my '79 which at one time had been heavily loaded with all those things plus a trailer for the 25,000 miles that my wife and I had enjoyed on it so much for those several years. When I finally stripped it down and refurbished it down to a one-up, big Japanise cafe bike it made me smile every time I rode it. Wonderful bike! I see you've got yours in full trim and I don't doubt it's gotta be a hoot to ride! Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new here myself and these are wonderful knowledgeable guys to chew the fat with.

Thanks guys, the standard is a kick in the pants. Totally different ride than the Aspy. I like them both a lot, but when I want to hot-rod around I take the standard. It gets a lot of confused looks.

Welcome from the NW. I saw ad on Craigslist for a 76 GW and it looked in cherry condition. Though I do not know if I will ever go back to a bike without some sort of a fairing, but it would really be nice.
