Silverbullet07 intro :-)

Postby silverbullet07 » Sat Feb 02, 2013 8:18 pm

Hello Forum,
I would like to introduce myself as a new member to your website. I am 50 something, married with four children and live in So. Calif..
I've had a string of bikes my whole life. From a Taco mini bike to my beloved Goldwing. To me and my wife there is nothing as fun and relaxing or even spiritual as a morning ride through the country. I've had my Goldwing since Sept of 07 which was a birthday present to myself. One of the best things I ever did. Happy to say that I am not experiencing any PMS.
Anyway, it is time to start learning more about my bike so I can perform as many repairs as I can. I have been reading posts and articles from your site and I am impressed with how helpful and smart you all are. I hope to learn from all of you. I hope to help as often as I can as well.
Thanks,
SilverBullet07

Greetings from the UK Silverbullet.
Welcome to the best Wing website you could hope to find.If the people here don't know the answer to your Wing problems then I don't know who will.
A ride out in S Cal sounds just the ticket.
I did fifty miles round Oxfordshire this morning and am now thawing out with a hot cup of tea.

Sid

....and a hearty handshake from the NW States....we have not thawed out yet, though it is getting a lot better, I can see the green grass now, and there is no ice to be seen, though they are saying a possible cold snap again in a week, ugh! I really dug seeing the sun and blue sky yesterday.

Wellcome from Fl. Bought my '06 new in Oct. 2005 as a 60th birthday present for myself. Love it and 84,000 miles later I feel younger.

Thank you all for the kind greetings :)
I would like to let you know that already I have contributed to the site by using two of your sponsors. My Service manual will arrive Monday from Helm Inc. and Batterytown is helping me in a non cycle related matter. I let them know I heard of them through this site. I'm really excited that I'm going to learn what all those extra wires and strange looking mechanisms under the shelter are for !!
So formalities are over and now I will be addressing specific forums for the reasons I joined in the first place. Thanks again so very much. Looking foward to getting to know you all :D

Welcome from Michigan, you'll love this site, there's a lot of help here. I remember the great riding weather you have out there. Of course it was a long while ago (1967-70) I was in the Navy aboard the USS Ranger based out of Alameda. I had my bike shipped out there, road all over San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, etc, but I did'nt have a Goldwing back then it was a 350 Honda Scrambler.

I've done those rides wally, albeit a few years after you. I had a 1975 CB 750 Four Supersport. I left LA Co. and rode to Washington State through all the National Parks then turned around and came back the coast just out of High School. Will never forget it. I think I tasted every kind of insect in the state due to the lack of a fairing. One of the first things I got upon my return. Anyway, Thanks for your service and glad you got your Goldwing. All of our Veterans deserve the best.

Thanks Silverbullet, you know you mentioned the insect problem on those rides, you were so right, I too rode without any fairing, windshield or any protective clothing and on one run out to Lake Tahoe a bumblebee hit me in the chest when I was doing 80 some mph it felt like a rock hit me. Some things sure leave an impression on your memory
