Am I blind, stupid, or both??
I don't know what is going on with my "PM messaging". I was having a conversation with another member via pm's....The last one I typed up to send would not go anywhere except to the out box.
When I hit submit, it did not send the PM. Shows 1msg in out box....I cannot find any button (submit or send) when I go to the msg in the out box....As I said, I don't know if I am blind, stupid or both...We had sent a couple PM's to each other in past 24 hours and I had no trouble... So
someone pls tell me what could have gone wrong....and how do I fix it....and make the pm go through when I hit the submit button...

It sounds like it is internal to your machine, most likely a glitch in your software. Have you run all your diagnostics?

The PM will sit in your outbox until it is recieved by the person you sent it to. If they dont sign in and goto thier message folder it just sits in your outbox.

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
That makes no sense at all. Sitting in the outbox until it's picked up!
Heck he was having a conversation with the receiver.
I believe the PM system works like email does, and he has, or had a problem with the site talking to his PC.

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
I said it is in your outbox, it is not still in your computer its on the server. If you where PMing someone and they logged off while you were typing it up they wouldnt get it till they logged in again. You do not need to be online when they are to get your PM. When you see a message in your outbox then you know they have not recieved it or read it yet........... clear as mud?

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
Just as you said, it is now gone from my outbox all by its lonesome....So guess he logged on and opened up his messages. Actually that is very good to know....at least you know if your pm was received and read or not instead of getting upset cuz you didn't get an answer to a question or a response back about something....You can see he just hasn't read it yet...so not to worry.RoadRogue wrote:The PM will sit in your outbox until it is recieved by the person you sent it to. I havn't sent very many pm's since being on this site...maybe 10 or so, Guess just happened to be whenever I did, the folks were on line and opened it up right away so I never noticed it sitting in my outbox before....as I said, learn something every day....
Thanks again for the info

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
Let me clear something up....Yes I was having a conversaton with the person at the other end. But, it was not one with instant responses....hours inbetween. He could and probably did get off the site for x amount of time and return. I know I did between exchanges. I just happen to catch him when he was off line I guess on that last message that didn't leave the outbox right away..so, all is good.bjatwood wrote:No it is NOT as clear as mud. Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
Sorry it isn't clear. I will try to amplify what the Rogue was saying. When you send a PM, it goes into your outbox till picked up. If the person you are sending it to is online and opens it up right away, you may never notice it was in the outbox. If that person is offline, and cannot immediately open that message, it will sit in the outbox till the recipient comes online and does open it. So, you could have a conversation with someone and it would go quite smoothly till one of you goes offline, at which time, the messages would begin to sit in your outbox. I hope this made it a bit clearer.bjatwood wrote:No it is NOT as clear as mud. As, he WAS having a conversation with the guy on the other end....Doh

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
The person I was exchanging PM's with was dondday who sent me a PM after I made a comment about wanting to take a ride to Panama. He attempted one but had a strut failure and returned. We were discussing the possibility of a ride to Panama someday...as I would like to make that ride while I am still half way able.littlebeaver wrote:You guys are funny...You silly rabbits,,,twostrokes, who is this mystery person of who you are PM' ing , I remember that you Pm'ed me once....Long Time ago....How is your health sir are you cleared to ride yet?..How's about you riding by my house on the corner of McCullough and Coronet some time..it's two streets north of 410 on the right hand side as you come to the stop sign on that corner with an eagle out front....Come on by and we can have coffee or something, maybe go for a spin out to Hondo or Uvalde...Fredricksberg or Kerrville..75 degree's today...gorgous..here in SA...
As far as my health is concerned, I am not cleared to ride although I gave myself clearance for rides of about 20 miles or so just to keep the bike running. I will know a lot more next week as I have a cardiac cath scheduled for next tuesday..My doc thinks I have some major blockage and will be ready to add stents if necessary. If that does not clear up the erratic problems will most likely go with the pacemaker. He will have to figure out something pretty quick cuz I ain't gonna stay grounded much longer.
Maybe I can get out that way to visit after the cath job is over next week or so. Or you are also welcome to swing by my place. Just let me know. I am on 1604 out by Calavaras Lake near Elmendorf. I'm half way between hwy 181 So and 87 So. It is 4 mi either way to my house. With a little advance notice I could even throw on some ribs, or brisket, or somethin...Or, could always have some tacos....I know we were gonna git together before and somethin came up or whatever and it just didn't happen.

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
We just went out to Texas Pride BQ last weekend that's out by you I think...I had one of those Heart Cathes done once a few years back, everything looked ok, they never could figure out why my BP would go so high while exercising on the treadmill...It went so high they had me stop and the doctor checked me out ect....I bewildered the doctors...I told them it was the pretty nurse in the room,,,,,remove her and my BP will relax...
NO No,,,as a young child I watched a show called the Twilight Zone, Remember the PIG faced one,,,Well when you are 4 years old and you watch something like that,,,it will scare you for life
..Now that's all I see when I go to a doctors office , a bunch of pig faced people out to get me
,, and they wonder why my bp goes up...

Re: Am I blind, stupid, or both??
Yep, from where you started, you were close. Another 6-7 miles further down 1604 and you would have been here.
This is my 5th cath in past 35 years. I personally don't think there is any permenant blockage. I have been diagnosed with vaso-spasms in my coronary arteries. The problem is that beause of moving or using military doctors (who move), everytime I have a really bad episode where I end up at the ER, they all want to reinvent the wheel. They don't want to take the chance that it is a spasm blocking blood flow, or actual blockage. So they want to go in and take a look. But, I havn't had one since I became diabetic about 15 yrs ago. My EKG's on tread mill look bad, Like you, my BP raises much too fast on the treadmill, so the doc wants to go take a look again.. The arrhythmia and low pulse problem is new just past few months. Doc says either the blockage or electrical problems. All I know is that it sucks when I get these episodes.

They ALWAYS go to the Out box - you just never noticed it before. They stay in the out box until the recipient reads it, at which point they move to the Sent box.twostrokes48 wrote:I don't know what is going on with my "PM messaging".
