Try this with a 'regular' bike!

Postby tom84std » Mon Feb 18, 2013 10:29 am

My bike sits under a carport. Not really in the weather but still exposed to the cold and damp. It's dusty and needs to be washed. While this is Texas and nothing like you guys get up north, it's been cold and wet. I changed the oil yesterday and no surprise it started. It was chilly but bright and not a cloud in the sky. I rode several miles in the neighborhood. Everything worked perfectly. All the handlebar controls, brakes, everything. Thirty years old and it's been sitting for months untouched and it operated exactly as it did when I parked it months ago!

I assume "regular bike" means anything other than a GW....and being in Texas....why would your bike be sitting all those months??? Couldn't have been the weather???this is texas.....3 days bad...10 days good 2 days bad...6 days good...etc etc..That is unless you just got too many bikes and can't get to givin them all enuf attention.

November through December in the Hospital. A lot of time devoted to building "Betty" the kitchen bike. Yes, and I can't understand guys like a good friend of mine. SIX bikes. How can he possibly have enough time to ride that many?

Betty Crocker. Queen of the kitchen.

ok,
Time in the hospital, that doesn't count against you..heh, Working on another bike, guess we can let that slide too, so looks like you will just have to catch up on miles when you get the change. I sort of have the same situation....Doc right now won't allow riding and working on two other bikes with a 3rd that needs attention also..Hopefully your situation is temp as I also hope mine is.
