NEW Tomom Rider GPS

Post by cal3san » Thu Feb 28, 2013 2:08 pm

A mid-February TomTom press release about the NEW TomTom Rider GPS has resulted in a bit of web "conversation" on a couple of other forums. The press release at http:/ includes a short video clip that has some great riding scenes.

In a chat this PM with the folks at the 1-866 TomTom Number, it was disclosed the NEW Rider GPS has NOT YET been released in the US. Europe has had it for a while. The TomTom Europe website has it going for the US equivalent of $511 but that includes bike charging dock, cradle, bluetooth, etc.

The US press release shows a price of $299 and briefly touches on the accessories (bike charging dock, auto hook up, cradles, bluetooth, etc).

The guy I spoke to at the 866 number thinks it'll be released in the States next month but had no firm info or even printed material as to base price or accessories cost. He did promise to pop me an e-mail as soon as he gets any US release info and/or prices.

I look forward to a tipoff when they are announced.
