What happens at 100,000?

Postby WingAdmin » Thu Feb 28, 2013 10:33 pm

Check out our statistics:

A couple years ago, I thought "in ten years or so, when we reach 100,000 messages posted, I should do some kind of special prize or something."

Well I had no idea this site was going to grow the way it was, and I suspect we'll be at 100,000 before the year is out.

So what do you think? Should we do something special for the 100,000th message posted?

A Goldwing! Yes that was what I was going to suggest. I'd even settle for a nice used one, a 1500 like Scott's, maybe triked! You know if every member donated a dollar you'd be able to get an awfully nice trike to offer as a prize

We should have a count up ticker like they had on the Apple App Store when they reached a million or billion or trillion or gazillion or whatever…..
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

I had this idea just a few minutes ago. How about everyone nominate their favorite charity. I can set up a page where you can send in a dollar or two (or ten!) via PayPal or credit card. For every dollar you donate, you get to vote for a charity on the list. When we get to 100,000 messages, whichever charity has the most votes, gets the money.

What do you think?

You know when I first read the title to this thread, I thought you were going to give us some great tip on maintenance when our wing hit 100,000....I was gonna say just change the oil and start on the 2nd 100,000. Was I suprised or what???

Wounded Warrior Project or ST. Judes either one would be a great place to donate too.

I predict on my 68th birthday (Oct. 31, Halloween). The WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT sounds like the best idea yet.
