New 84 Aspencade Owner

Postby chitown2010 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:26 pm

Well every journey begins with a first step and I'm starting my Goldwing journey this weekend. I pick up my 84 Aspencade! 8-)

I haven't ridden in 27 years and getting on this bike was like coming home.

In any case I'm sure I'll be sticking my nose here and there as I get to know this gal and looking for the right answers to getting this bike in tiptop shape. Been lurking here long enough to know this is a great place to meet my fellow wingers.

See you folks on the road!

Welcome to a great site here.I'm 150 miles north of you in Sheboygan Wi, and I run a 1982 A my self. That bike sure does look great, and I'm sure you will enjoy it this summer. If you feel like a kid again like I did when I got back on after ten years away from it, it sure makes one feel young again. Age here 70.

Yep - this is the best site I've seen for GW's. Thanks for the kind words - I'm looking forward to getting back into riding. You guys are GW pros so I got some catching up to do!

Phil - once I get some riding experience if I know I'm heading to the WI area this summer I'll drop you a note and see if we can meet up.

That would be nice meeting one day. My advice for this site is to read and read and read some more. Our WingAdminstrator is the greastest in answering all questions no matter what. How much better could it get then that!! He sure has helped me out several times and does others on a daily basis. How he can juggle his time in doing that beets me.The ( How To Articals) with pictures, could not be better. I'm waiting for our wingadm to start on is house so I can learn on how to fix my house furnace ha ha

This is hilarious - I recently fixed my furnace! If it's an Armstrong Ultra 80 and the symptoms were sporadic on/off cycles, you're in luck

I an new to this site AND to biking. (I rode a "little in high school...100 years ago). I just got a 1986 GW Aspencade 1200 TRIKE!! I absolutely LOVE it. Now all i have to do is practice until I get enough confidence up to take her out on a "real" road. That's why feel so lucky to have found this web site and forum. I know I will have many, many questions as I learn new things about my trike and riding. From what I've read so far, you guys are great, and knowledgeable, so thanks for being here.

It's nice to know I'm not the only guy who's been away from bikes and is getting back into it some 25 years later. I don't feel so foolish for doing it. Enjoy the ride, we only go around once. Nice looking bike.

Hey Chitown, come out I-88, Rt. 38 (Roosevelt Rd.) or Rt. 64 (North Ave.) I'm only about 35 miles west of Chicago
As I get better at riding maybe we can ride together sometime. Trouble is, you have to go a long way to get "country" riding around here.
We could join up with my friend who is 76 and has been riding for over 40 years. He has a very nice Lehman trike.
Hope you are having a blast on your new bike, I know I am.
