yes, we had the granddaughers since noon yesterday....All we could do to keep them busy yesterday...They went to bed early, so they could get up early....Up at 5:30am, eating candy....sheeesh....put a stop to it after a couple pieces...said they had to wait until after breakfast.....Then after the easter egg hunt...Well it is 10am, they found all the eggs we hid all over the yard....Now they are back to eating...But at least we all had a good time. Hope everyone else gets to enjoy the day. I know it is still cold a lot of places...It was 66 this morning...probably 75 already....Shorts and t-shirts for the girls...

All God's creatures have a place in this world - right beside the Potatoes and Vegetables on my plate.

Well lets see here, it's seems to be perfectly acceptable to gobble down chocolate bunny rabbits on Easter, why not real one's   I personally would spare the hare on this day but I gotta sneak me in a chocolate ear or two at least....Happy Easter folks... :D although BQ rabbit sounds really yummy...

There was a pic of Easter-Ishtar here

Well, Oestar, pronounced Ooster which was in the spring of the year, did indeed celebrate the awakening of all things living (including sexual things), but in my opinion (yes, I know, I do not have any test data to prove this, which is why I called it an opinion) sooo - in my opinion, this celebration was common to the Norse people in the days of the Vikings. It also contained Pagan religious or spiritual significance, and was celebrated in and around the Viking Stave Churches. Pope Constantine was plagued with complaints of the difficulties his priests and monks were having attempting to convert the Savage Hordes, and so he told them to move into the Stave Churches, and celebrate mass on such holidays, and so Easter came to be the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, as an attempt to bring the Pagans to Christianity. Probably around the same time as Ishtar - Either way, it did not begin life as a Christian Holy Day - :o

And to the Beav... as I am diabetic, I cannot eat bunnies of the chocolate variety, so the real ones do just fine. Bye bye Easter bunny - hello full tummy.

Well, either story at least gives me some way to connect the easter bunny, eggs, and the like to a a holy day....I never knew of any connection with anything. Of course, I was never courious enough to research it either. But at least now I have a couple ideas.

Maybe we could start a new slogan....They have the "just say no" for drugs. We could start one " Can't say no" for sex. Personally I think it is a great idea. The chocolate would come in handy too.
