Finally...first ride this year

Postby WingAdmin » Thu Apr 18, 2013 10:17 pm

I haven't been around here much. I spent ALL last weekend and a fair amount of time in the evenings piecing my bike together. I was getting tired of watching all the bikes on the road, then coming home and looking at mine in pieces. I got it done tonight, cleaned it up a bit, and went out for a short test ride. It works! :)

Now on to my wife's new bike, which is still in a sorry state of disassembly...fortunately, we still have her old 250 Virago, which she has been riding.

Don't feel bad. My Wing is assembled but the weather and the sand on the roads has kept it inside. Fortunately I have a dual sport which has seen some action.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

My side has been raining big ol' drops, so no way going out on this...but 70 degrees next week, I am thinking I am going to hop on my bike for a ride up in to the hills just to get out.

Perfect riding weather coming, I know it is (please please please)!!

Two feet of snow in front of the shed so I can't get to any dry road. If I could make it that far I could ride but those 75 yards of are the hold up as well a the weather is only about 36 degrees :(

I took it up to Canada and back this weekend, about 5 1/2 hours each way. All good!

Isnt that just a short ferry ride across a little lake? No biggie :P . It must be time to fire up that PCxxx so that you can both get cold together.

I could throw my front brakes together and get out on the road, but I still need to do the timing belts. Only have so much faith in old rubber and cord, you know? This post sure makes me want to take it out, though. I could sure get myself in some trouble.

Well, I was going to ride the bike tomorrow back to Kansas but I saw it was going to be 24 degree's there for a low  I can't believe how chilly it is still up there..It's almost May man...What's up with that....Somebody needs to talk to the Weather Gods and straighten them out....Tell them to quit the Tornado's for a season too..We are moving to Miss. it is now considered Tornado alley over that way.... I might have to rent a backhoe and build my own shelter...

Shhhh....don't mention the PC. She's back riding the 250 Virago, because the PC is still in pieces littering the living room. :) I'm going to try to get it done by this weekend!

When there is a crowd, I like to stand out a little bit - not too much, but just apart from the crowd. Besides, with a family name of Reddie, I couldnt push the 'red' too much, so picked a nice pleasing colour, and green is more restful than most, so that is my colour.

As far as living on a "big ass island", it is actually the smallest continent, and the largest island - but I think they forgot to count the Antarctic as an island. They have strange animals there, as well.

Shhhh....don't mention the PC.

As long as she has two wheels to ride when she likes, then all is good. Getting two bikes together is fine, as long as it is your full time job, but to keep a busy schedule, and put bikes together, is just a lot of work for a mere male - a female could do it, but we are more finicky about some of the more mechanical items than they are - but who is counting?
