My opinion on helmets is full face. That was reinforced for me when we got hit in January making a left turn, and the car behind me tried to pass us, on the left of course! I hit the ground face down and have no doubt there would have been major damage to the bottom half of my face if I had not been wearing full face.

For intercom, lots of good units out there. We went with the Sena SMH-10, which is blue tooth with more capabilities for communication than I ever came close to using. Rider to rider, phone calls, music, GPS, etc.

Windshield:- Tinted lower section looks great and vent is a must MO, some tinted shields are thinner tham original windshields, they seem tight but the collars tighten down onto the bike and not the windshield. Vibration causes the windshield to slowly work its way down, scratching it to death in the process, using a washer on each collar cures it. Not sure of its height but i like to just see over the top of it enough in the rain to see all of the bike in front without sitting up like a meerkat. Going to fit a wiper though so I can shove it all the way up.
Helmet:- Internal flip down sun visor is a must, I love them. Duchinni are underated, mine has a flipdown sun visor and little pockets with velcro flaps for headphones, and a great little channel I could tuck a open face boom mike in with the foam ball rtemoved. I also Still have my first proper helmet, an AGV KR2000 Kenny Roberts replica I paid £50 for at Earls Court in 1979 I think
Speakers:- I just fitted Metrix Audio (Hogtunes) fromt speakers, they are advertised as GL1800, but are the same size as Gl1500 front, they are too big for the 1500 rear, they are 4", I fitted Sony Xplod in the rear, had to do a little cutting out to get the magnet in, both pairs cost about £90

Go straight to the battery via a inline fuse, you can use it as a charging point, you do not have to have key in aux to use it, will not flatten the battery if nothing is left plugged in. Use a marine socket, have you seen where ~I fitted mine.
