tricks of the trade...

Postby RBGA_BOB » Fri Jun 14, 2013 11:08 pm

Every enthusiast for every vehicle make/model has little tried and tested " tricks of the trade." I personally have a '77 GL1000, which is being refurbished this coming winter. My question for you is, what "tricks" have you tried? What has worked/flopped? Updated shocks from a different model year? Lighting ideas? etc...

The best mod that I have made to my 76 is going to a Dyna electronic ignition with high output coils. The coils I went with is Accel. Another thing is to be sure to replace and or clean and tighten "all" electrical connectors and hard wire the yellow wires from the stator. This is often overlooked when restoring these old gals and can eliminate many gremlins that will haunt you. Good luck with your 77.
