Sleepy passenger

Postby tom84std » Tue Jul 30, 2013 3:27 pm

Please keep in mind, my bike's a standard. I do have a padded sissy bar but no arm rests. Even leaning on it the passenger must stay alert and seated upright.
We woke to a foggy morning yesterday in New Mexico just under 900 miles from home.
After about 16 hours in the saddle, I felt her forearm rest against my shoulder and her helmet plopped down against the back of my neck.
She was ASLEEP!! I wiggled her knee, she would not wake up!
I pulled to the shoulder and put down the kickstand. I slid aside and put my helmet in my seat as she slumped over it and slept. I stood there and held her up for a good 20 minutes. After a while I woke her from her nap and she sat in the darkness gathering her thoughts. she was fine for the remaining 50 miles back home. I guess I have a history of pushing my back seaters too hard, but we made a heluva lotta miles. She now qualifies for her own IRON BUTT award.

Yeah a few years back we my wife and I took a ride I made my way to the state of PA. I didn't know she had been sleeping most of the way. I pulled up to a little dinner for some breakfast. Well here in NY you could not smoke in public places. We went in ordered breakfast she taped my arm and said look that guys smoking in here. I said ya she was having a fit about it.I looked at her and said were in PA. I think she could have crapped her pants..She had no ideal she been sleeping.. Sally
